Reviews had me worried. Unless you are new or never been to a chicken plant disregard them. This is the cleanest most organized chicken plant I've ever visited and I've been to many. Directions however my GPS sent me the wrong way due to bridge weights but the bridge Waits are for loads 57k and over. I found the best route to be off of 55 take exit 15 which is State Route 98 follow it a few lights make a left on Locust Street no trucks allowed on Rob Street no trucks allowed through residential areas or you will get stink eye and a finger wagging from a 5 year old. Don't do that. When you come to Highway 44 at Locust the road is a washboard be aware it's pretty rough but go right on or take 44 all the way to Reeves Cemetery or they call it River Ridge Road when you get on River Ridge Road and your approaching the location my GPS told me to go in the first entrance do not do that they will turn you around continue along the chain link fence to the second entrance and the gate guard will give you a gate pass you'll stay to the left and go into the pit where you might see trucks facing you staging but they have to leave a hole for the yard jockey go through that hole and there is room to turn around so that you too can stage facing incoming trucks. I found them all to be very nice and very helpful and very informative. Check to make sure you have a seal if you do not you have to pull down by the check-in door and they have to install the seal for you also the temperature will be set at 20 on the lot but read your Bol if it's a different temperature change it to that after you leave when exiting they they want you to weigh each tandem so go slowly they'll waive you forward for each tandem. They deserve more than five stars I thought they were excellent! And they allow you to check in early sometimes with kill plants you can't get your product early here they have no issue with that in fact on Saturday my appointment was for midnight but I was able to pick up at noon I'm very happy with my experience. Be safe out...
Read moreMy load was a drop n hook amd thankfully it was ready. The previous reviews are correct about disorganised. It isnt hard to do what ya need to IF ya know the drill. Its like its a secret no one wants to share. Here is the drill if you are d&h. Go to security shack check in. Drive your empty to second right to scale. Scale house gives you a ticket Once off scale you call shipping. They tell you what trailer to pick up. You drop mt in same row you pick up loaded. Once you have loaded return to scale for loaded weight ticket. Once off scale call shipping again. Park truck and walk to shipping door by docks and a white pick up truck. Wait for shipping clerk to come out. You give them your scale tickets signed by you and a paper that guatd gave you. They give you bills and then you can proceed to guradshack to leave. Everyone just tells you go over yonder with a grumpy wave. Smh There is trailers dropped everywhere so little room to menuever and no extra parking. When it was all said and done not bad just unorganised. Glad i didnt have to live load. Workers atent friendly but not rude just...
Read moreBeen there twice. Both times I dropped of my refeer and come back next early (7ish) yo pick the loaded trailer. You need a pick numer to give it to guardshak, if u don't have don't even bother trying to check in. U then proceed to the facility scale and get ur empty weight..take that ticket to the shipping and receiving office...on the scale ticket...write down ur PU #...ur cell #. When u come back to pick up ur trailer...need to get weight again....takr that ticket to the shipping and receiving......They claim they will call when the trailer is ready...they never do..just come next day after 7am. No overnight parking available. Few mom n pops truck stop nearby...all r somewhat small...within like...
