SPECIFICALLY REGARDING SLEEP LAB HAZARD AVE ENFIELD...It was suggested that I have a sleep study due to a cardiac issue ( which wasn't properly handled at st francis,a partner of jmh) so I scheduled one. March 6 I went in and had all the wires connected to me and was told that if your apnea is very bad at 130am we will put you an a mask as opposed to just monitoring...I spent the night there only woke up one time to use the bathroom which is my usual schedule then I went home and continued to live my life. On March 11 I got a frantic call from Dilpreet Singh saying I needed to came in asap since my study showed that my apnea was "very severe" and could I come in that night...I had had a colonoscopy that morning so I said no...THE NEXT POSSIBLE APPOINTMENT WAS MARCH 20 (guess very severe doesn't mean we'll get you right in)...by the time I called the "supervisor" Dilpreet Singh back there were no more Wednesday appointments...this new "malady" must be a lucrative business if the rooms fill that quickly...so I took a Thursday March 21 appointment. It of course had been 10 days since I was basically told that I may not wake up some morning so thanks for the quick attention to that, but anyway... I received a phone call from Dilpreet Singh Thursday confirming my appointment and I asked what to expect,he told me I would be put on a CPAP machine for the night and would sleep like a baby and wake up with more energy than ever and some other rhetoric. I showed up for my appointment thinking I would put on a mask and lay down but NOPE...had to wait to get all wired up again then tried a full face mask which was not comfortable, huh you'd think a SLEEP LAB would have more than one mask,so I was given just a nose covering mask and then told to go to sleep. IT WAS QUITE POSSIBLY THE WORST NIGHT OF SLEEP I HAVE EVER HAD !!!!!! Between being confined due to the apparatus on my head and face and the nearly suffocating several times by simply having my mouth drop open not to mention the dry throat and nose upon waking this experience was HORRIBLE !!! When the technician was removing the wires glued to my head, she ran out of alcohol pads...MAYBE dilpreet singh ( supervisor) SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON BUYING SUPPLIES AND NOT SELLING PUPPIES AND RAINBOWS...finally stumbled out of the "lab" to head home and almost FELL ASLEEP driving !!!!!! Sleep apnea may or may not be real but this sleep lab affiliated with jmh is not !!! DO NOT GO TO...
Read moreI have been a patient there quite a few times and I was an employee for over 3 years. I've taken all 3 of my children to be seen there as well. A few other family members have also been seen there. Not only have we waited hours to find out absolutely nothing, they are so understaffed, that you dont even have enough time to explain what's going on. My son had hurt his foot in a sledding accident when he was about 5 or 6. They did x ray's but told me that they didn't find anything and treated it as a sprain. I wasn't satisfied so I went for a second opinion. Thank God I did. My sons foot was fractured and needed to be in a cast for 6 weeks. If we didn't get it treated correctly, I was told he would have messed up his growth platelets. My daughter was in a car accident last summer. She was treated at Johnson memorial unfortunately. She complained of a headache, sensitivity to sound and lights. No catscan was given. Well they sent her home saying their was no sign of a concussion. Not even an hour after we got home she began throwing up. I had to take her back there where they then said she did have a concussion. I could've told them that and I'm in no way a medical professional. I went there after falling on ice and hurting my back. They gave me xrays and sent me on my way. Well come to find out, one of my discs in my lower back was bulging. It took me a while to finally see someone else about it and I had to have urgent surgery which they then terminated me for being out for, with 3 drs. notes and an application for fmla. They denied me for having my forms in too late. My father was brave enough to have shoulder surgery there a few years back and needless to say, he had to have that surgery corrected by a real hospital. Hartford hospital. I live 5 miles from Johnson memorial hospital and I would rather take my chances going anywhere else then to be treated there, even on my deathbed. It's a complete waste of time...
Read moreThe reason I am giving Johnson memorial hospital 5 starts is due to the social worker ERIN IN THE MENTAL ILLNESS WARD. Erin All these 5 stars are for you. Thank you for the for that listening and thank you for caring from a Mother!
Candice The head nurse either needs to retire or find a new perfession Don't argue about meds and diagnosis with a 19 year old's patients mother. I would not listen to a child Especially One with autism and mental Illness about their needs.......I would listen to a concerned mama........ Candice was training a new nurse Hopefully that new nurse doesn't follow candices lead....don't ever argue in front of patients staff or patient's families very unprofessional for Any nurse much less a supervisor..... . . What's more important? Listening because a mother cares about her child and is Begging your facility for help or just proving a point..... Candice turned my words around to the doctor and my child was discharged after 2 days The doctor told my son this is not a place for diagnosis This is a place to come If you are suicidal in a danger to society.
