Southern Charmers Country Store — Local services in Statesville

This store is an absolute treasure! Located a short couple of miles north of Statesville, it’s hard to describe exactly what it is.

It’s a gift shop with locally made and sourced goods, from stickers to jewelry, to cups, clothing, etc.

It’s an antique store with two smallish rooms in back just stuffed full of antique bric-a-brac.

It’s a “grocery” store with coolers/freezers containing locally made foods, dairy, eggs, etc. they have a local bakery delivering bread on Fridays and a local dessert Baker bringing cakes etc. They even have an ice cream shop! There’s a large wall with jams, jellies and pickles off every variety. At certain times, they have a mini produce market outside. (It pays to watch their social media account.)

Of course, the people who work here are super nice and helpful. The prices are, on average, very reasonable. If the parking lot looks full, drive around to the back for more.

We were tickled to find this interesting spot of the beaten path while we were out riding motorcycles last weekend! The location is a perfect central site to many attractions and gorgeous mountain towns like North Wilkesboro, Moravian Falls, Wilkesboro, and Love Valley, NC. The store attendant was super knowledgeable about the area, and there were a lot of old time crafts, foods and gifts that I had not seen in stores for quite some time, including many LOCALLY MADE holistic products at very affordable prices. Quaint little shop in Statesville that is packed with charm, local artist wares and wonderful smells to delight the senses. Could spend a long time just browsing the various local artist wares in the forms of sweets, jellies, soaps, soft goods, paintings and art, fashion accessories, etc. A vintage room in the back houses trinkets and decor from days gone by.
