After two years in the same location I can firmly attest that there is something wrong with the monitoring service at this company. Between last year and this year our winter power bills have gone up.
This would make sense for some of you with central heating. This property uses wood and oil with no electricity for heat. We got rid of our electric stove for gas. Replaced the Christmas lights with LED. The only appliances I have on electric at this point are: a hot water heater, a dryer, and a refrigerator. Those three items should not have a variable power usage that puts my bill above $300 when summers are below $180. Our summer power bills should be more expensive because I'm using a 220 volt air conditioner most of the summer.

Edit update Feb 2023, I no longer give them a one star. They installed new transmission towers(the big towers that hold the cables). Because they did this and cleared close trees out, we have not once lost power for more than a few minutes. In the 18 months, we’ve only lost power a handful of times for a few minutes. It used to be multiple times a month for long periods of times.

We always pay our bill within days after we receive it, have never been late and they are holding a large deposit. Deposits should be based on payment history, not prior customer usage. If not for holding a large deposit without a justifiable reason I would probably give a higher rating. The power goes out often but is usually restored in a reasonable amount of time.
