We used Santmier Catering for our son and daughter-in-law’s rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. Nick is an amazing chef and his food was delicious! For the rehearsal dinner we had a taco bar. The menu consisted of grilled Mexican chicken, grilled peppers/onions, taco beef, rice, and refried beans with all the fixins. It was all very fresh and was presented beautifully! The food tasted better than any Mexican restaurant, as was expressed by my father-in-law. For the wedding reception, we had chicken and pork bbq sandwiches, Mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw,, pasta salad, etc. which was all so yummy! Nick always provides plenty of food so there’s never a concern of ever running out and not having enough. We would highly recommend Nick for any catering needs. He was great about getting back to our emails and answering questions when my husband or I would email him. Nick worked within our budget as we were planning. He made a stressful time, especially planning a wedding with covid, not so stressful for us. Winchester is lucky to have a chef and caterer in town like Nick, as well as his staff, who are all very professional and friendly too. The Catering Company catered our wedding on 9/16/23 in VA, as well as coordinating tent and table setup, as we had an outdoor venue. The final setup looked great and it was a beautiful setting for our big day. The food was really good and very fresh tasting! So many of our guests commented on how great everything tasted, which isn’t always the case with wedding food.

However, communication and follow-through could have been better. We discussed allergen labels many times via email and calls with Angie and Nick, but on the wedding day, the staff said the signs were forgotten. Therefore, our guests with food allergies couldn’t identify what they could eat at the appetizer table and buffet. We also discussed special meals for a few of our vegan guests, but those were not brought and none of the staff seemed to have any knowledge of that plan. The bar was missing some common mixers like cranberry juice and tonic water, which seemed unusual. They sent a coordinator who asked us questions she should have known the answers to. Overall, we wished they had communicated the details of our plan to their staff working our event and introduced us ahead of time to who would be running...

Nick and everyone at The Catering Company were an absolute dream to work with. It can be quite a whirlwind at the beginning of wedding planning when having to choose options for such a large party.

From the first inquiry I sent all responses were quick and informative. We were able to mismash different protein and sides to create a menu we were happy with. Our tasting included all our selections and we were asked for any sort of feed back or tweaks we wanted to make. We were also given great advice on how to set our venue up and great ideas for our day.

The day of our wedding they arrived and set up right on time. The staff was enjoyable and receptive to all our request. They were great about communicating with our coordinator about anything and everything to avoid any big issues.

Most importantly all the food was super delicious! Some guest were going up for third helpings and everyone I talked to had a different favorite dish. The Mac and cheese is a must get. Everyone says no one eats cake at a wedding but the cake ours was devoured along with all the mini desserts!
