Lakeside Memorial Golf Course — Local services in Stillwater

BAR NONE: This is the best valued golf course around the state of Oklahoma. The conditions are always top notch from tee to green. Fairways are always in great shape. For the price of $30.00, and carts that include GPS, this is a place you will come back to play often. The staff is always cordial and accommodating and just flat out super friendly.

Pace of play is always good. Even when the weather is perfect there is very rarely a backup at any time. Now, we don't see a marshal and always play early around 800, so not sure if things get crazy later in the day. In any event, the course offers a great pace of play overall and is always in supreme condition.

The course: There are holes that you can score on, especially on the front 9. #5 is a very drivable par 4. #9 par 4 is also drivable. A short par 5 on #13 really adds to the uniqueness of this golf course. Favorite hole is #2, a shorter par 4. A big tree left and run off to a low-lying area right makes you think about driver or 5 iron etc. off the tee. If you can carry the tree or hit it low or draw it around to some extent? You can have about 75 yards left to the green. The entire layout does not ask a lot of your game, very few hazards to negotiate, and just a great place to really enjoy your golf game no matter what level you play at. This course is always in great shape no matter the time of year and even with the winter aspect on the fairways during colder months you still have turf to play off unlike some other courses around the Tulsa and OKC area.

Off Course: Only drawbacks and keeping this place from 5 Stars: No cart girl at times, no snack bar in the clubhouse or grill. Clubhouse is great inside, and you can purchase a couple of things but a grill to sit around after or deck feature overlooking 18 for instance and this place would be a gem. Played in May 2022. Course was in pretty good condition. the course is fair but it can play really long. My primary concern was the terrible rentals that I had to use. I came up for a wedding from Florida. I did not bring my clubs. I rented clubs that really should not be in the club rental mix. Clubs were in terrible condition, dirty, faces caked with dirt. I ended up playing out of my son's set for a big portion of the round, just due to the condition of the clubs. I am not a good golfer. I don't expect a lot. I went with a few friends and we got to the back nine, we had a terrible experience with one of the so called “pros. “ First, we were in the middle of the fairway when a ball come flying out not more than 10 feet from my friend.
