UPDATE Unfortunately after using this repair shop for so many years and thousands of $ spent on three vehicles at this lication, I will NOT be returning. I have come to realize the owners and front counter person of Dave's Auto are pleasant but in dealing with the labor repair costs and unfair treatment towards a long term customer, something is wrong. They were up front in the install of premium quality replacement parts I provided with no warranty.
However, when an antifreeze hose leak was later determined relating to the part I provided, it was the 'workmanship' in the improper tightening of the clamp that resulted in the leak, not the hose. Telling me the clamp had stripped might have been true, but this clamp was a very high quality clamp. It was the mechanic who installed this clamp/hose that damaged it. Apparently it didn't matter, as I had provided the parts even though there was NO manufacturer defect. The pressure test and labor to tighten the hose was yet another cost to me as well as time to take the vehicle out of daily service. Really?!
How about my vehicle needing A/C repair (no cold air), and worked on by the owner. Given back after be charged for labor but told leak could not be found. Bring it to a Ford dealer and they want to know who worked on this A/C system as dye was all over the motor. Told they had to wash the whole motor down then could inject new dye to locate the leak and repair.
I walk away knowing true customer service is not found here. I could give other examples but maybe it's only me. I gave this place enough time and $. Do know they are very pleasant people.
Found a new repair shop that is honest, friendly, informative and uses technology to contact me as a customer. Don't let the size or location of this great repair shop fool you. It's the BEST!
This repair shop continues to exceed my expectations. The staff recently took my daughter in to install a new tire on her car on a spur of the moment (hit pot hole and blew tire). Staff took the time to actually talk to her as a person and women and explain what they determined happened to tire. Read moreI am very dissapointed with the service I received a week ago. I wait to post my comments hoping to hear from the owner or management to apologize for the poor service provided. Here is my story. I went to this place since my car was having some kind of hesitation or mis-fire that I wasn't sure what was causing it. I saw the ratings 5 stars rating for this business and decided to give it a try. They told me that for $450.00 they will removed timing belt cover to check if there was something wrong there. I said OK go ahead. Later on the front desk person called me saying they didn't find anything wrong and for an additional $450.00 they will remove the manifold to check if there was something wrong with the injectors. Since there was no technical rational or what they were proposing I said no way Jose. I though they got me this time. I asked to mount timing cover belt back and I will pick up the car when the car was ready. Next day I picked up the car. When I got home to start troubleshooting the car, I found that all belts but one in the timing belt side were all out of place and loose. I felt so frustrated and scammed. I immediately called Brian. He tried to help and he asked me to bring the car back to the shop. I asked Brian to allowed me to speak to the technician (Scott) who worked in my car but the technician never came. I asked to speak to the manager but since it was Saturday, the manager wasn't there. Brian was very polite and he did what we could to help. This might be a good place for quick fix ups of non complex car related issues but for more serious problems. Next time I will go to the dealership. The dealership will rip me off but they will provide with a solution to the problem. I feel scammed and so frustrated since I now question if they even did what they told me they did since I was not even able to see traces of hand prints around the timing belt cover. They didn't even asked me to see my car when they removed the timing belt cover. Definitively, I don't recommend this place. They are no different than any other current parts...
Read moreThis place wants nothing more than to force people who don't have any car knowledge into paying unnecessary amounts of money. I've been here on two occasions within the last month hoping to find a closer shop I can trust. Once to get my girlfriends car dropped off for routine maintenance and just last week for an inspection on my own car. Both times they handed us a wrap sheet of over $2,000 of work that needed to be done. My girlfriend has a mechanic in the family who had recently looked at the car and said he couldn't believe what he read. For me I was also in disbelief. They told me I had some balding on the interior of one tire wall. They told me it would fail and I need to replace all four tires. These tires are brand new as of a year and a half ago and in great shape other than that one inside wall. So to me, who has only a basis knowledge of cars, it just sounded like the alignment was off... But on the report it said my alignment was in great shape. They also said my back breaks were in terrible shape and pads and routers needed to be changed. This also sounded suspicious because 4 to 5 months ago the dealership said my breaks were in good condition. I took it to a mechanic I've known for a long time for a second opinion. Through his inspection he found the tires were still in good shape other than the balding but the alignment was out of whack and we needed to fix it in order to save the tire. As for the breaks he said the back left was just on the legal passing limit, but the right was not. But it was NOT into the routers. Saving me tons of money. I would never recommend this place to anyone they do not care about their customers just their money. Sending out coupons all the time and having a nice waiting room only...
