A invigorating 8.8 mile look trail 🏃‍♂️that electrifies the senses ✨🤩✨. Speckled mountain is the quintessential loop trail in the white mountains. You’ll get a great workout, monster mountain views, serenity, babbling brooks and and an all around perfect day in the mountains 😛. We started at Brickett Place, and started up the 2.4 mile Bickford Brook Trail. No leaves on when we went, so views at every turn with Southern Exposure 🌞. A good mix of inclines and flat trails. The trail is basically a very old logging road that follows a ridge up to the head waters of Bickford Brook. It cross’sthe brook and zig zags up to the junction of Spruce hill Trail that comes in on the left. Stay straight on the Bickford Trail. This section of the trail is on the north side of a ridge, and was covered in snow ( April 17th ). Runs a pretty straight and steady incline until you reach the junction of the Blueberry Ridge Trail. From This point to the summit of Speckled Mountain is only .5 miles. Dazzling views 🔥😃🇺🇸 from the top. On the way down, make sure to take the Blueberry Ridge trail as it affords dozens of panoramic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ views to the South, East and West. The landscape is exposed rock, low lying blueberry bushes and a mix of short Spruce, white and red pine 🌲😬. Pay attention to trail junctions along the way, and make sure to stay on the Blueberry Ridge Trail. Near the end of the Trail, it’s gets fairly steep and slippery.. careful 🙃. Before reconnecting to the Bickford Trail, it’s again crosses the Bickford Brook, with a series of picturesque waterfalls. This loop was one of the best we’ve done in the White Mountains ⛰😘....

Demanding trek, 5 miles to summit, steep trails. Exhilarating views, particularly upper third of hike, as one departs treeline. Truly a world unto itself; as one ascends, the mundane drops away and the sublimity of the natural landscape manifests. Highly recommended! Not for the...
