Rating: ★★★★★
Nestled in the picturesque countryside of Batavia, Ohio, The Golf Club at Stonelick Hills is a golfer's paradise that combines natural beauty with an exceptional playing experience. As an avid golfer, I recently had the pleasure of teeing off at this stunning course, and it exceeded all my expectations.
From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by friendly staff members who provided a warm welcome and ensured a seamless check-in process. The professionalism and attentiveness of the staff set the tone for the exceptional service I experienced throughout my visit.
Designed by the renowned golf course architect, Jeff Osterfeld, Stonelick Hills offers a challenging yet fair layout that caters to players of all skill levels. The course features rolling fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and undulating greens that demand precision and strategic thinking. Each hole presents a unique challenge, keeping players engaged and inspired throughout their round.
The natural beauty of the surroundings adds to the allure of the course. Lush greenery, mature trees, and sparkling water features create a serene atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. The course is impeccably maintained, with well-manicured fairways and greens that provide a true and consistent playing surface.
One of the standout features of Stonelick Hills is the impeccable course design. Osterfeld has crafted a layout that seamlessly integrates with the natural contours of the land, creating a visually stunning and harmonious golfing experience. The strategic placement of hazards and the thoughtful routing of the holes make for an enjoyable and thought-provoking round.
The club amenities at Stonelick Hills are equally impressive. The clubhouse exudes elegance and sophistication, offering a range of amenities such as a pro shop, locker rooms, and a restaurant with panoramic views of the course. The staff at the clubhouse were attentive and accommodating, ensuring that every aspect of my visit was enjoyable.
In addition to the exceptional course and amenities, the pace of play at Stonelick Hills was commendable. Despite the popularity of the course, I never felt rushed or held up during my round. The well-spaced tee times and the attentiveness of the staff contributed to a smooth and unhurried pace of play, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the game.

Read moreThis may be a great place for golf, but don't EVER spend your money getting married here. It was beautiful but the manager is incompetent, combative, and rude. My best friend got married here and he said no to absolutely every thing she brought up. She was having BBQ and he was all up in arms because he didn't want it to "Ruin his linens". When we showed up to set up for the reception, all the linens were stained and looked awful. We showed up the night before when he told us to be there and while setting up he and the bartender basically glared at us for an hour and a half. We were not allowed to show up until after ALL the golfers were done and gone, and yet we couldn't have some time to set up the area? The manager kept saying "Golf First" and he was not kidding. During the ceremony, a ball splashed into the water about 3 feet behind me. We weren't allowed to be there until 3 the day of the wedding and assumed the golfers would be finished by the time the ceremony started around 6:30. I understand this is a golf course but if you don't want to accommodate someone who is spending thousands of dollars just to rent out the space, don't even offer to have events. Mike, the manager, was awful. The bridesmaids and the bride did a photo which featured all of us having a drink at the bar. This was at about 3:30-4pm. Mike said he "knew there would be trouble when the bridal party started drinking at 3:30" (though he is now saying that we started drinking at 2:15 when we didn't even show up at the golf course until around 3:15). This was the only drink we had until the reception. When we asked for the beers for the photo, the bartender opened the bar (without asking the bride, groom, or anyone), thus charging an extra couple THOUSAND dollars for the bar. Golfers (not guests at all) were eating mints and cookies that had been set out for wedding guests and were drinking beer allocated to guests of the wedding (the bride had kegs brought in...the type of beer wasn't even offered at Stonelick). All in all, a HORRIBLE experience. My best friend, the bride, left in tears. There has been no resolution whatsoever and I wish I could say what I have written here was all that happened in the 7 hours we were there. I am appalled by the total lack of customer service. The manager said he hated doing weddings and hopefully they will stop offering to have them soon. Don't waste your money on this place unless you want to play golf. And I wouldn't even recommend playing golf here if you have to deal with the manger, Mike, who was incredibly incompetent. Stay...
Read moreHere we go again, Last year we were paired with two young non golfers who themselves were nice people, as for their golf not so good, ruined the round that my playing partner and I drove 3hr for including overnight stay, the Stonelick golf manager/ranger was on the course, he spoke to us about speeding up play, I was already feeling rushed already all day due to the poor play of who they paired us up with, so a snapped back and said i'm not enjoying this either. He later met us in the parking lot and told us we got a raw deal, he did the right thing and offered us a raincheck to come back, he ask if we could bring another couple of players when we came back. Now moving forward to 2022 brought my sister and one of her friends to play along, first shock... the rate was $96 and the only credited us $78 dollars for last year we had to make up the difference, the credit was given at the 5pm time we finished which was at a lower rate then the time we started either way we drove 3hrs for what we thought was a replacement round and ended up paying additional cost to play, I held up my end bringing more people and I even paid their way. As for the course due to the heat the rough was little dried up but fairways and greens as expected good, next here we go again....Ranger is coming by regularly checking which I do not have a problem with, the round was slow and backed up, on the 7/5 it's expected somewhat, the ranger comes by again, he says there's a bachelor group holding things up ahead, Why? this is an easy fix tell them to pick up their ball and move to the next hole, the ranger asked us is the group ahead of you holding you up? I said yes they keep hitting extra tee shots over and over, he said ok drove off, this continued all day, what good does it do if you don't control that. Now to my biggest surprise I get to the clubhouse, I said lets go inside get a beer, get the bets settled, this when my sister says they close in 18min I said what! they had a wedding scheduled at 4pm, when we made the tee time why were we not notified? we were rushed out of bar area like cattle, disappointed not to sit down and relax before heading home from seeing my sister on our trip. The club can do better than this and it's returning golfers depend on it. The last word...the bathrooms need updated, one stall for public bathroom on a busy day...
