I hired Harbourside Garden Company to dig out my old shrubs and plant new shrubs and a birch tree. On the first day before any work began, I asked the crew if they wanted me to put flags next to each sprinkler head, which would entail turning on the fully functioning sprinkler system, and I was told there was no need for doing so. Mind you, the job was done late fall and at that point I wasn’t using my sprinkler system. Come spring, I turn on my sprinkler system and the areas where the landscaping was done in the fall, wasn’t working. I want to point out that Rachel Tipton, the owner of Harbourside Garden, told me if any sprinkler lines were accidentally cut, they would repair them. When I contacted Rachel, she told me she spoke to her crew and they said they didn’t cut any irrigation lines. Subsequently, I had to hire an irrigation contractor to repair the lines, which were cut exactly where there old shrubs were removed by Harbourside Garden. The irrigation contractor took photos, which I sent to Rachel and again, she denied having anything to do with the cut lines, instead she said she spoke to my neighbors who informed her I had a new roof installed on my single story house and said it may have been caused by the heavy equipment used, which there was no heavy equipment used. Think about it…the irrigation pipes are buried below the frost line and they clearly were cut by shovels, last I checked, roofers don’t dig in the ground, but landscaping companies like Harbourside Garden Co. certainly do, Yet Rachel is still denying any fault. Also, since she planted so late in the season, she said that she would guarantee the plants survive the winter, if not, she would replace them. I contacted her and told her one plant did not survive the winter, she ignored my email. She is not a person who stands behind her word! As far as the irrigation system goes, I expect to be reimbursed for the cost of repairs, yet she ignores my emails and comes up with ridiculous reasons why it was her company that cut the lines. Would I recommend them,...
Read moreI had looked all over New Bern for red climbing roses and nobody had any. Came home and searched the internet and could only find bare root plants in the variety that I wanted. Not wanting to chance what I might be getting, I remembered Harborside. Gave them a call and they had two potted climbing roses in the the variety that I was looking. Their price for a large potted rose matched the internet price for bare roots and I didn't have to paid a shipping fee as well. I will save myself a lot of time and money and shop Harborside Garden...
