Judging the store for what it is: a small local grocery store in a remote area of Maine? It's pretty good! The staff are friendly and selection is reasonable for the size. While I don't buy it, I do seem some organic and gluten-free options here. Pricing is a bit higher than some are accustomed to but it's not ridiculous. Quality is generally fine, particularly the deli.

What's actually in stock can get a little inconsistent around the beginning and end of tourist season though due to rapidly changing demand. Prices can also sometimes be absent for an item on the shelf or missing from the system, but it's infrequent.

Worth remembering the closest major chain grocery store is a 2 hour/80 mile round trip drive to Ellsworth, so for its few flaws, I still highly...

And while I'm chasing the vapors of nostalgia, I also miss the DVD rental at the deli counter; it's a small tragedy to see it gone. I'm partial to Burnt Cove over the Galley (no offense to the fine folks there) and it sure beats driving...
