I've been using Stop and Shop as my main grocery store ever since I moved here from pittsburgh, PA back in the 90's. I have always loved the deli department especially because I've always been able to get homeade grinders freshly made with the kind of lunch meat my husband and I love. It's nice to know that you can go somewhere close to home and get a nice lunch on the go. For us it's an easy meal when we are in a hurry. And let's face it we are older and its not as easy for us to find food we can actually eat that we like at the same time. So to bring me to my topic. Recently I've been to two different stores and have been told for one reason or another that it couldn't be done, once they said they forgot to take the bread out of the freezer and I can't remember what the other reason was. But besides the fact that they wouldn't make the grinders they talked to me like I was asking them to do something that was not part of their job description. I feel even though I love your stores I may actually have to find somewhere else to shop. I'm very Disappointed. I have even considered that the person was having a bad day, but then it happened again at another store, so I'm forced to base my decision on both my experiences... I would hate to have to change stores over something so miniscule. But unless this get resolved that's exactly what I will do. And I'm in here 3 to 4 times a week. And I also have used the store for my catering buisness. If I am wrong and this is not part of their job description I sincerely apologize.
Sincerely...
Read moreMy wife and I have been shopping here for well over 10 years, spend hundreds of dollars on groceries each month. Recently, my wife purchased a 12 pack of Michelob Ultra beer, along with other items. Every couple of weeks, I take the assorted empty water bottles, soda cans, etc to the redemption facility on-site. The Michelob Ultra bottles, (10 bottles, 50 cents) were rejected by the machine. All other plastic, cans, etc were accepted. I took my receipts to the courtesy desk, and asked the lady attendant why the bottles purchased there were rejected, she said (without even looking at the "CT Deposit 5 cents" on the label) that they do not accept bottles purchased In Rhode Island. I said "but I bought them her" she said, "it doesn't matter if they were bought in R.I.; I repeated that I bought them in this store. She replied that it did not matter, I repeated once more that they were purchased here, at which point she said "have a nice day", and walked away. So apparently Stop & Shop has no issue collecting the deposit, just a problem redeeming them. With that, neither I, my Wife, or my adult children will be shopping there in the future. It's not the 50 cents, it's the principle . There's still Big Y, McQuades, Aldi and Costco, more than willing to do...
Read moreI went here early to limit COVID exposure. The self checkout is closed early in the morning which is really stupid during Covid. So thereâs a line of people and only one register open. Everyone in the line has a mask on but the cashier and the bag lady NO MASK!? I saw one of the meat counter guys sneeze on some meat he was not wearing a mask then he just wrapped up the meat and put it on the shelf. This company does not give one bit about its customers health and safety only itâs bottom line. It doesnât wanna risk someone shoplifting? so they close the self checkout? they donât care if you are at risk they only care about themselves. I will never shop at this place again they have lost my business and all 25 of my family members business. This company does not care about its customers otherwise they would require their employees to wear masks especially during the height of the pandemic. What about kids with cancer? What about people who are immune compromised? The answer Stop & Shop doesnât care one bit about kids with cancer. And who do you think theyâre donating to politically? This company is a disgrace and Iâm going to spread the word about their evil ways. NO SHOP...
