I didn't think I'd ever be leaving a review for a Christmas tree farm, but here we are. We got the worst tree we've ever had in over 15 years. I'm talking worse than our Home Depot buys when we first started putting up a tree. It was crunchy and dropping needles within 3 days of going up, when we assured they were "cut fresh". I contemplated bringing it back, but at that point, you've done all the hard work of transporting and putting it up. For what it's worth, it was also the most expensive tree we've ever purchased ($140 for 9ft) which makes it that much more painful. I'm sitting here on 12/23, looking at bare branches that have fallen, also a first. I've never in my life seen a tree literally wilt before my eyes. I had to put fake presents under the tree to hold up the branches, wild!! I would ask the owners to be selective with your vendors if these weren't your own trees, be honest about when they arrived and really consider if the pricing matches the product. I know it was an off year for trees, but man, it's disappointing to put in all this work and effort and not get even 2...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Mistletoe. Our tradition is to go to a tree farm and cut our own the day after thanksgiving, but we couldn’t this year so we went to Mistletoe the day before thanksgiving. It was a nice experience, but they didn’t have a suitable tree to cut so we got a pre-cut. Beautiful tree, the most expensive we’ve ever purchased ($35 more than same size at our usual place) but we were satisfied. The tree went straight into a water stand when we got home. For several days it drank quite a lot and I kept on top of the watering. As is our custom, we waited until after my son’s December birthday to decorate it. My son alerted me to the problem we’ve encountered: “look mom! Every time I touch the tree the needles fall off!” And indeed, he placed a candy cane on the tree and every needle on that branch fell off in doing so. I thought maybe we could decorate it gently, but no—any touch at all results in needle loss. So here we are two weeks before Christmas with a tree that can’t be decorated. Absolutely sick. We...
Read moreMy boyfriend, daughter and I had just moved into the area and had no idea where to go. Our only opportunity to get a tree with her, oddly enough, was a Tuesday morning and they were closed. We called not realizing they were not open and the kind man who I believe was named Mark, told us to meet him at the barn and he would happily accommodate us. We were delighted as he put on music and allowed us to pick out our tree. He took time to cut, net and help us load our tree onto the car, my daughter even fell in love with a small tree for her room which he kindly helped us attach as well. After some laughs, he sent us on our way with lots of great information about how to keep our tree looking wonderful and even some information to help us get settled among the community. All in all we are more than pleased and cannot wait to return on a weekend for the full experience. We really value these local gems. Thank you for a great experience...
