Meck's Produce — Local services in Strasburg Township

I always try to get to this place as soon as I can—considering they have phenomenal groceries for sale!

They always have good milk. Whether you’re the raw milk or pasteurized milk kind of person, they have it! They’re raw milk is usually good for a week to 9 days, so you may or may not want it from there. Their pasteurized milk comes from Maplehofe Dairy, so I’d say that quality speaks for itself! They’re raw cheese is exceptional as well! Our favorites are the regular cheddar, havarti, and Buffalo cheddar!

They have DELICIOUS meats from local farms. My favorites are the beef cubes, ground beef, and one of the steaks (I don’t remember which one I had). Their pork loin is amazing as well! You have to be quick because when it’s gone, it’s gone until delivery day!

Their produce is great, too. While I don’t get everything there, they have a wonderful selection of fruits and vegetables, most of which is locally grown. I love taking my kids there to get apples when it’s too cold for picking in the fall! There’s always good options for root veggies, too!

They have a large pastry selection, lots of honey, packaged bulk candy and dried food, and some deli meats and cheeses, and even premade meals and deli sandwiches. There are jams, jellies, chips, coffee, and ice cream (also Maplehofe, but I believe this is under the name Leiby’s). Iced teas, Boylan sodas, and little drinks like that.

This appears to be a smallish sized store when passing by, but when one stops in, you'll be surprised by the amount of items on the shelves and in the coolers. From delicious local cheeses and dairy products to take and bake meals (yum),store made subs and sandwiches, packaged deli meats to the wide selections of fruits and produce, there is something for everyone's taste. Outside of the store there is always a good variety of seasonal items just begging for a ride home in your car. On our way back to MD from sight and sound, my mother-n-law asked if we could stop a for some local produce sound we pass a stand.

Merck’s was that stop and it was a very pleasant stop. Staff were friendly, informative, helpful, and whatever music station they’re listen to… wry nice😌!

She purchased fresh baked raisin bread, fresh produce… particularly fresh corn, blueberries, both reg and rainier cherries, and tomatoes… all which I received a called about expressing how good everything was.

The best though…. The Boylan bottling Co, cane sugar, black cherry soda! She said it reminded her of her childhood 😌!
