B. J. Stevens Furniture and Appliances — Local services in Stuart

I have purchased a couple of appliances, and had planned on more, from BJ Stevens In the last two years. The Maytag upright freezer I purchased from them suddenly stopped cooling properly during the weekend. I called first thing Monday morning and was told Brian would call me. Morning turned to afternoon and my food was thawing, no call. I called and left a message, no call back. I called again and Barron(? not Barry) and was told Brian should have called me so expressed the urgency of the situation. No call from Brian at all on Monday. Tuesday morning I called as soon as they were open, “Brian should have called you. I told him. He has court today though.” My reply was “thank you, I’ll take my business elsewhere.”

All it would have taken to satisfy a desperate customer in need was a phone call back to let me know something, anything, on whether they could help me with an appliance I purchased from them that is only two years old. I’ll be buying my new washer and dryer, and anything else I need, elsewhere from now on.

I do not recommend this store, bought all appliances (with the exception of a washer and dryer) for 40 years for 3 homes from this store. When Barry ran it there would be no problems. I look in my kitchen, appliances from this place. But the dryer broke, after 10 days of no answer then maybe next week, then coming this morning they realized I had not purchased the dryer from them so they would not fix. I waited the 10 days for them instead of calling another service repair because I thought if the dryer was not able to be fixed then the could quickly bring another where as an appliance repair would not. We called a service man at 5 in the afternoon after Stevens said they would not come and he was here at 7:30 the next morning and had it fixed in 10 minutes. No thank you to...

My family had used BJ’s forever, but not anymore. If anyone needed anything for their home, we would always say go to Barry’s. Not any longer! We will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN!
