A Gathering Place — Local services in Sullivan

My first time ever in this shop. I loved the variety but the prices was overpriced from shopping at other places. Especially the location. Sullivan Indiana is not where you’d expect pricing to be so high.

I had a clerk wrap up a gift I was purchasing & planned on coming back for other items that I liked for gifts.

I asked the clerk where was the restroom as I needed to get there ASAP. She informed me that they did not have a public restroom. I explained that I had a j-pouch (which is an internal colostomy bag) Once it gets full it has to be emptied or it’ll overflow. It’s like when you fill a sink full of water & when it’s full the only place to go is running over. Get it?

For this to be a large shop, high dollar business, THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!

Ridiculous!! Being in business myself for many years, YOU MUST cater to your customers.

After this incident she informed me that my item had been gift wrapped & was ready. I told her that if they couldn’t allow me to use their restroom then they could just put the wrapped gift back. I wouldn’t be purchasing anything.

My friend was still browsing & I informed her that we had to leave immediately. She checked out & off we went.

It may not be as fancy as the Gathering Place but we come from Terre Haute monthly & the owner at The Country Attic has always appreciated our business. We spend a lot of time & money in her store. While at the Country Attic we seen items in her shop that had tags from The Gathering Place. The pricing was a fraction of the price of what you’d pay at The Gathering Place.

MY REVIEW……. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. My friend shops there but after this incident she said she wouldn’t be returning. She also thought that a high dollar business that size should have a working restroom for their customers.

We’ll continue to support Bell’s Country Attic in Sullivan IN where they know you when you walk through the door & are happy to provide a restroom, if needed, so we can continue to shop & support...

Waiting all year long for their "Open House" weekend was a planned, must go, Saturday. Had a fabulous lunch and hours of Christmas shopping with the bff. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Always purchased a lot of gifts and left with a smile. Sadly, all good things come to an end. With this being over a 2 hour drive for us, without the Cafe and restroom and more clothes and Vera items, just lost the appeal. Thank you for more years than I can remember of...

Pricey as expected for a boutique. But, a great selection of items. Im sure you'll find something for yourself or someone you're searching for that perfect, personalized item here. It was a fun experience browsing the store & look forward to my next trip. I enjoy that its not like everywhere else. Uniqueness. Staff was friendly. Greeted me upon entering as well as greeted others. I recommend & will return. They truly have something...
