I am not one to write bad reviews on companies but in this instance I feel it is my obligation to warn people. I ordered the 3FE engine conversion kit for my fj60. This kit is supposed to go in place of the 2f engine and allegedly comes with sensors, inline fuel pump and all of the other components to install the 3FE engine into the 60. They require a credit card number before they will begin looking for an engine or doing any compression testing. Unfortunately, I trusted them and gave them the information. They sent me an email saying that they had an engine that was supposed to have 142,000 miles and compression between 170 at the highest and the lowest being 160. I thought this was a great find and was excited that I would have a fresh engine to put into the 60. I had my engine shipped to a mechanic who specializes in land cruisers and has been working on them for the past 45 years. He owns a 60 himself in which he rebuilt the engine. The mechanic did a compression test and leak down test of the engine and the numbers were no where close to what cruiserparts told me. The compression showed between 106 at the lowest piston and 115 at the highest. The mechanic installed a flywheel and used a new starter to perform the test. In addition he performed a leak down test which showed 35 to 40% exhaust valve leakage in 4 of the cylinders. Obviously, I was very upset by the news and promptly called cruiserparts to tell them I wanted to return the engine. They offered me a different engine in exchange but they had lost my trust and I did not want to go through the process of retesting an engine sent from them. I especially did not trust an engine rebuilt by them. I told them I would pay for the shipping and send it back if I could receive a credit for the engine. Craig from cruiserparts received the engine and sent me pictures of a compression test he performed saying that my mechanic did not know how to do a compression test. The numbers he sent me were between 140-150 between all pistons and he did not perform a leak down test. This test from him was 20 points off of the numbers he sent me when they tested the engine the first time which further indicated to me that they didnāt perform the compression test properly. They charged me for the shipping and an additional $1,200 for restocking! This restocking fee was charged in full for restocking the total purchase, and I only received the engine. I was very angry at this point and called them; although, they denied everything and said that they were going to apply the restocking fee regardless. I even told them I would pay for the shipping. So yes they are definitely scammers⦠Maybe some people get acceptable parts, but their strategy is to get money from you if you return the item regardless of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne star should not even be an option for this company. The experience that I had was a terrible one. First of all I was dealing with a guy named Gabriel who seemed to have no knowledge of what they were talking about. I placed an order believing that there was a clear understanding of the parts I needed and not only was the order really late as the representative keep ignoring my calls and kept putting our order off, but they ended up sending the wrong parts out anyways. Then when I called to correct the issue Gabriel was unwilling to help and kept saying he needed to speak to a manager. Turns out the manager Craig was not helpful either. Instead of trying to help the situation as I was now very late on my due date to my customer trying to find parts for their vehicle, the manager told me that the parts I ordered were wrong and I had to pay for the return shipping for the wrong parts that THEY sent LATE. After not reaching an agreement to find a resolution I told them I did not want their parts or any more business with them and I agreed to pay to ship the parts back. Finally when I checked my bank account I saw that they only credited me back a portion of what I paid for and when I called back to ask why they said it was a fee to return the parts. That is ridiculous. Not only did I pay for the parts to be returned but there was also another fee which they never told me about before sending the parts back. They scammed me and did not try to resolve my issues with them what so ever. As a business owner I understand the value in trying to make a customer happy and making sure the job is well done. If there is an issue solve it. Do not make the customer feel like a victim to a scam or make them feel like their business is unwanted. I really hope that this does not happen to anyone else trying to find parts through...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never leave reviews, but I had such a bad experience that I feel I should warn others. This is the kind of establishment that acts like they are doing you a favor by taking your money. Their customer service is non existent. Good luck contacting them. If you're placing an order, they'll probably get back to you so they can collect your money. If you're reaching out about an order already placed, they will ghost you for weeks. They'll string you along and tell you they have the parts in hand and are shipping it out tomorrow, but your order won't ship for months. Don't expect a straightforward response.
I placed an order well over a month ago that still hasn't shipped. This wouldn't be an issue if they were upfront about this. The problem is that I was originally told it would ship the following week. After two weeks, I called in for a status update and was told the order was ready to go, and that it would ship in a day or two. That was over two weeks ago. I've called and left a message twice now, and have not received any reply. At this point I just want to cancel my order and purchase from a different shop, and I'm not even able to do that.
I originally ordered from cruiserparts because I liked the idea of supporting a small business in the USA and was willing to pay a premium to get the parts quicker than ordering from Japan. This store isn't a business, it's a charity case. Save your time, money, and avoid the headache. Order your parts...
