Took my wedding dress here for alterations. A nice lady but apparently does not know at all how to do alterations properly and her place needs a good cleaning to keep your attire looking clean. I tried it on upon arrival where she did pin it up for alterations to the shoulders, the hem and I asked for her to do something pretty to be able to bustle up the court length train for reception. 5 weeks later I called to make sure everything was going okay because I had not heard from her. She said she was just finishing up the Bustle hook. When I arrived for pickup she said no need to try it on which I didn’t want to try it on in her shop anyway, was afraid of getting it dirty from the floors in there. As soon as I got home, I took it out of the garment bag to find it covered in dust bunnies, glitter (my dress has no glitter) and other pieces of colored threads as well as a few small dirt spots, so I got to work on removing the spots and a lot of lint rolling to clean it up so I could try it on. Immediately noticed the terrible sewing job on the shoulder straps. (See pics below) Then I saw all the ugly silver hooks sewn on back of my plain white dress that she put in for the bustle. I was in tears at that point but it got worse when I tried it on, it was still too long by approx 3 inches, the hem was so obviously uneven that there was no way I’d be able to wear this dress as is. It was so botched that I wouldn’t even dare have her try to fix it. I called my sister crying asking if she knew of a good reputable place to take it to get it fixed 2 weeks before our wedding. She said Sadie’s in Clayton does beautiful work. I called them and they got me in immediately, they were so helpful and came up with a plan to fix it. They exceeded my expectations and were extremely professional, clean, kind and supportive. They had my dress done in less than a week and it looked perfect. Pics below to show what a sewn shoulder seam should and shouldn’t look like. And silver hooks like below should never be seen like this. All it needed for a bustle was a small Pearl button and three white threaded hoops that can hardly be seen when...

All around, it still worked but I definitely would have had it done completely different! It just didn’t fit me like...
