I recently went to the ER because I was having shortness of breath. My daughter was just tested positive for covid so I wanted to get checked out right away instead of waiting until my doctor office appt. the next day.
My experience was not terrible. The man at the door was very friendly, and pleasant. I had to wait in the respiratory room(the old gift shop)until it was my turn. I did not mind that, and understand the separate spaces, however, it is so hot in there! Literally a sauna. People with trouble breathing already probably shouldn't be sitting in such a hot space! A few of us asked about it, and were told was nothing they could do and we could go outside to cool off for a few mins if we needed to.
Getting my vitals and covid test was a breeze. The nurse was very friendly and personable. Abby, I think is her name. When coming in to get another patient for their vitals, she let me know the status of me being seen.
Now for registration, the lady at the counter was not rude, but was not hearing anything anyone was saying to her. My insurance card is always an issue at this location. I have private insurance, but everytime it is put in the system, always kicks back with a problem. I have had it fixed several times to no avail. She was not having any of that. She did not ask if I had new insurance or if I even had my card. I had to tell her to make a copy and put it in. Just another day for her.
Once I was taken to a room I was pretty quickly seen. My nurse was not very pleasant. 0 bedside manner, but the doctor who saw me reminded me of Patch Adam's. Very energetic, but overly so. The house keeper who came in to sweep and mop was amazing! If only the medical staff could be more like this woman was! I thanked her for her part in this crazy we live in now.
I was sent home with no answers or diagnoses. The doctor told me that a lot of people are coming in with this new viral infection that they thought would certainly be covid, but then we test negative. So a placebo diagnoses. No direction of what to do at home.
Not a terrible experience as I...
Read moreUNFORGIVABLE SERVICE. My daughter went in 3 months ago for an ingrown toe nail. I just found out we paid for a Dr. but was seen by a practitioner . Usually this is all right for small items like cuts and bruise's. But at today's high prices when we pay for a Dr. i expect one, otherwise a lower price for less quality and training. It's been three months and her toe is greatly infected. it's tomato red and puffy. I found out the practitioner only took out a portion of the nail and gave her a script for med's. After a month it was still infected and she went back to have it looked at again. Now my daughter is a slow person and doesn't grasp on how bad this could be, but at the clinic they didn't question her as to why she waited to come back, and after a quick look wrote another script for meds. Now going into 3 months i took her again because i thought she might lose her toe because of this infection. And again ALL THEY DID WAS GIVE ANOTHER SCRIPT FOR MEDS and out the door. They took her money but didn't care about her health, one would think after three visits for same illness they would ask questions or get a real Doctor to look at its or at lease cut out the rest of the nail. Being dad i was mad and called the clinic to find out what was going on. It was after talking to Gale a clinic administrator who after some checking told me what happen. I understood what she said, but question why didn't someone follow up or question my daughter more. They would have seen she is slow and her response to questions would tell them she didn't fully comprehend and after three visits. So now i am taking her to a real doctor not a wantabe and hopefully she will be ok. As for the hospital i have no complaints, but the CLINIC as far as i am concern it is a joke, a waste of money yours or the insurance co, i am surprise if the ins co doesn't look at this an question why they are being billed three times for same illness when usually it's taken care of in three weeks not three months...
Read moreThis emergency room is an absolute joke. Just got home after going in with toxic mold exposure and have lost my voice. After being at the hospital for 2.5 hours the doctor finally comes in to the room (mind you not a single nurse has come in since the triage nurse admitted me) and after a couple short questions determines that, without looking at my chart, I'm simply having an asthma attack and I need a nebulizer treatment. I wasn't even struggling to breath at this point. He was convinced that I had not lost my voice, and I was stopping talking because I was gasping for air, he even went as far as to turn to my wife and try to get her to say I was gasping for air when I clearly wasn't. When I declined asthma treatment he got offended because "my breathing won't fix itself." The nurses that I dealt with, AFTER having already seen the doctor and not been told the results of the tests that had been done, were all very friendly, and even agreed that it was clear I was not having trouble breathing and an asthma treatment was not necessary. Clearly the doctor just wanted some extra cash flow for the hospital and didn't care the slightest about what was actually wrong with his patient. I live in the area and generally know better than to deal with this horrible hospital, but it had been about a year since the last time I tried them so I figured surely they must have gotten better right? Sadly I was wrong. There are always problems at this hospital and they always have an excuse, but rarely ever get even MOST of the visit right, let alone the whole thing. I will not go back to this hospital ever again and I will make it a point to push as many people as possible away from this horrible establishment. They should sell the building to a network with good, caring doctors and get rid of almost everyone...
