This park is worth visiting while up in oklahoma! Camped there with my family for about a week and had an amazing time hiking, swimming in the lake, mountain biking, and swimming at little Niagra! The stars are just incredible at night out there and did some astrophotography out by the lake! You can just about see every constellation!
BEWARE!! The water is quite chilly at little Niagra! But totally worth getting in! Bring a tube for the best experience as you can tube down over the little waterfalls!
The camp site right at little Niagra is a group site so without a group you have to camp at one of the other camp sites in the park, but easily a quick drive to anywhere in the park.
Including a few other trips I've made it to the park, never have seen any buffalo in the fenced in area.
It's very neat to see all of the elevation changes in the area and there is a hike you can do to see the whole park from one of the tallest hills in the area there. Definitely worth checking out.
Lots of natural springs to see and...
Read moreWhat a lovely spot! Just 2 hours from Dallas, Little Niagara in Sulphur, OK is absolutely gorgeous. The crystal-clear spring water, lush trees, and cool breeze make it a perfect escape from city life.
The area is very family-friendly with lots of picnic tables, BBQ grills, clean restrooms, and plenty of parking (including ♿ accessible spaces). You can swim in the springs or simply dip your feet in the refreshing, ice-cold water. The facilities are well maintained by Chickasaw National Recreation Services—and it’s all free!
A quick tip: there are no restaurants or delis nearby, so bring food or something to grill. Most of the picnic area is graveled, so wheelchair access is possible but not the easiest.
It’s also pet-friendly—we saw several dogs and even made some furry friends.
Peaceful, clean, and relaxing. I absolutely loved it and will...
Read moreNice cold water for a hot summer day. Go durring the week and it's not too packed. Just above little Niagara is the perfect depth for tiny tots and below it is great for adults to swim. Lots of people jumping off the falls, but be careful, there's shallow areas and only one good deep area for jumping, if you go a little to far to one side or the other youl hit rock. There's also a really nice walking trail all along the creek with mini falls you can play in along the way You can also check the page for this state park and it will tell you if there's any unsafe bacteria in any of the water holes. When we went one place has unsafe levels but all the other ones were fine so we just...
