This is the most unwelcoming welcome center I've ever been to. The building with the vending machines and a majority of the bathrooms was closed, there was a mobile COVID-19 testing trailer that really made the environment strained and as if you needed to be tested to go into the welcome center. They didn't want to let me in without a mask despite the fact that my children (ages 7, 4, and 2) were literally dancing and crossing their legs. If they are so insistent about masks, maybe they should offer disposable ones, Ohio never insisted on them, and I actually don't even have any with me on this trip.
It's obvious that this place has potential to be great, they are well stocked and fairly clean on the inside. But outside there was trash all over the ground. The people in the Welcome Center's Information area are all really nice & helpful when it comes to finding things you're interested in checking out within the state. I live on the other side of the state in Kalamazoo & was looking to discover something new in my area to checkout some time & they were more than willing to help me out.
