They covered a shower valve replacement and a hot water heater replacement through our warranty company and did a hack job with both. Due to the shower floor also needing to be redone at this time, we were unable to use the shower valve they installed until three months after install. When we finally had the chance to use/test it we found that they installed the shower valve with hot and cold on the wrong sides and after turning the water on and then off, it continued to drip. They also stripped the shower valve handle screw on install. You would think they would have tested their own install for quality of work using a bucket to catch the water or something along those lines seeing as how they're supposed to be professional plumbers, but of course no they didn't. Because warranty was now expired they came back out as a "courtesy" and fixed the hot and cold being on the wrong sides, but left the drip and the stripped screw. I called back the same week of the second visit to let them know they still hadn't fixed the issue so they could stand by their work and correct it and now they tell me they will charge to fix it at this point. Strange because they never fixed it the first two visits. The hot water heater was a huge hassle as well. They kept delaying the install which took over a week to finally receive. Typically a hot water heater is an emergency replacement, but it was not treated as such with this company. I had to call the front office manager and tell her the warranty company was still waiting to hear from their adjuster and she argued with me for two days about it and finally reached out to their adjuster and found out that he was on vacation which is why he was not responding to the warranty company. They finally installed the water heater with a huge dent in it and they say it's fine and won't replace it either. Very disappointed in this companies...
Read moreMy water heater pilot wouldn’t light. I tried numerous times and had a couple other people look at it but still couldn’t resolve the issue.I saw the sticker on the Water Heater for Van Allen Plumbing so I figured I would call and ask them for assistance. The gal over the phone was very nice and communicated with a guy named Roman to call me back. Roman and I spoke for about 5-6 minutes at most and he had me try a few things to light the pilot but it didn’t work. He informed me it would be $150 an hour for labor and any parts needed would be covered under the current warranty I had in place. The guys that came to the house to fix it were nice. They spent just over an hour to fix the issue. When it came time to pay the guy told me it was $300. I asked why since they only spent just bet an hour in total. He said his boss said two hours labor but that he could call him if I wanted to speak with him. I ended up speaking to Roman again and told him the work took just over an hour. He then told me he was also considering the long phone conversation we had yesterday, also the materials his guys had to get for the job. I told him we had only spoke for about 5-6 minutes and also why would I be charged for materials his workers need. I also said he should have disclosed all of the information yesterday when we spoke. He ended up saying he’d charge 1 1/2 labor but it just be over an hour. I didn’t want to argue so paid the invoice to resolve the matter.
I feel that Roman cared more about the dollar amount then providing a good customer experience. I would not use this company again based off of this one...
Read moreMike one of the "technicians" verbally stated a week without hot water was "not an emergency unless we get paid extra for it" and we'd have loved to pay extra for it, unfortunately Mike answered the phone at a number given to us by our home warranty company and he couldn't be more bothered to discuss the issue, cursing several times, talking over me, and laughing, belittling the fact that a house 6 people and 3 kids have no hot water, Mike and subsequently Vanallen plumbings stance that there is no emergency unless Vanallen gets paid extra (Vanguard as professionals can not assess the situation take ownership and call for a fee increase? Wonder why..... Popular football game weekend... Go figure Mike stated "we just don't work Weekends" to my wife after the big game they do? well if your paid extra and no football Mike and Vanallen does, but it's situational. Currently carving out as much time as I need to bring attention to Vanallen Plumbing and their core values and the pillars that make up their belief system as a business and ensure on my end that today every warranty company that gives them warranty work will know, it's my goal to hopefully show the warranty company's the reasons why they should eliminate sending work orders to them, I personally have been a technician for many years but am traveling currently or I'd have not bothered Mike and Vanallen during football, Mike refused give me his bosses number, fair. Enough but when you call every person on the website or the main number, it just goes...
