Dollar General — Local services in Sunapee

I’ve been going to this dollar general everyday for over maybe 2 years. Today will be the last day I ever come here. I went in last night to get a twenty dollar spendwell card paid 21 dollars for it, one dollar to purchase and 20 to activate. Kid gives takes my money gives me the card says I’m good to go. I get home no transaction made, I call manager in Newport location he’s says shouldn’t be a problem to get it fixed. Go down here today they say without a receipt I can’t get my Money back from dollar general for a spendwell card even though the spendwell was never activated so dollar general basically robbed me of my last little bit of cash IGNORED Me when I was confronting the dude at the counter. Needless to say a lawyer is coming there way soon enough. Stay away from this location it’s ran by druggies and shady people for real. 🤙 I’ve lived in Newport area my whole life I never make reviews so let this place starve. There’s a citgo right down the road that’s where my new spot will be with plenty of nice friendly...

Bought 2 prepaid cards on the 15th, a $500 & $100. Needed to pay a bill. Receipt says may take up to 30mins for funds to be available. Now on the 18th, the 2 cards still are being declined, saying the money that was put onto the cards are still 'pending' after bought with cash. The manager just tried telling me maybe it's due to the storm we had that night, maybe that's why it still says pending. Card company says the store never finalized the transaction correctly. Manager says there's really nothing she can do. So I just have $600 out there just 'pending'. Will update tomorrow after face to face with manager. Otherwise, go to a different store unless you're trying to lose...

idk personally i think it's slightly crowded in there and they close early all the time due to their incompetence of keeping a well directed and balanced staff under poor management with the addition of horrendously low pay rate. It also seems that some of these reviews are coming from petty people with a conflict of interest involved pathetically attempting to keep their own rating higher than deserved.
