The course is very nice, the staff not so much except the Marshall and kitchen staff. I guess since we were out of town it was rules for thee but not for locals. Marshall came around and was very nice shortly after some random guy in a John deere cart came and told us we were out of the designated area (photo for reference under the tree) "I know this grass looks cut but it's not, you need to keep the cart out of native grass" as he drives through the native grass. Then proceeds to tell the other two of our foursome they have 30 min to finish the next two holes but didn't say anything to us. Then drives to the guys who we've been waiting on all day (locals I assume) and proceeds to joke around with them. While we wait for them to tee off. Seemed very unprofessional. I could go on but........Wouldn't recommend spending the money to be treated like crap for trying to play a new to me course

1st time playing. Great value. Course was in great shape. Greens were a little slower than I’m used to but very consistent. Figured the pace out after a few holes. (I should have rolled a few on the practice green before going out) Friendly staff. Saw the marshal pass by several times. I found the patrons to be courteous (I was a single and many let me play through without hesitation). Greenskeepers were also friendly very aware of the golfers. Good challenge on many holes including a few par 4’s where they force you to keep the driver in the bag and have a good second, mid/long Iron approach. I’ll be back for sure. Best shot of the day came on No. 2

Quail Run is amazing! Easy fifteen minute drive from Sunriver. The course is in spectacular shape- supple smooth greens putt true, fairways are perfect- their greenkeepers know what they're doing. We rode the golf cycles...what an amazing experience! Todd, the golf pro there, is a genuine ambassador for his course and golf as a whole. We live in Seattle and will absolutely be back on our next trip to the Bend area!

To preface this post, we have been coming to Quail run for years and always had a great experience. So, when we had family come in from our of town we decided to take them for a nice round of golf. This past Monday was the last time we will ever show up to this course.

After paying close to $500 on greens fees and 1 set of clubs, half of our party went out to the tee box while the other half shopping the golf shop. Not only did the person at the counter tell us once, but twice that we needed to keep our 2 tee time separate, he got on the walkie and loudly started that they needed to watch our party closely to the Marshall.

Let me say, we had 2 three some groups and were fully aware that no course wants 6 people to play at one time.

The Marshall did not ask to look in our cooler but rather opened it himself and ruffled his hands inside to look for beer. All he had to do was ask, but he didn't, and again told us to not, under any circumstances have both groups together on the course. This was the 5th time we were told this (haven't teed off yet).

We had two passengers (who they tried to make us pay full price) and said only wives can ride without paying. We'll good thing these two riders are wives! Again, it wasn't the fact that they quaint us. But rather how they did. We felt attacked each time we were approached.

We played behind a four some. Who were slow. Very, very slow. So, when we got the first par 3 our two groups were waiting for the group ahead. The rude Marshall who put his hand inside our cooler came up and told (not nicely) once again that we couldn't be together. Instead of telling the group in front to skip a hole!

This routine went on for 14 holes. We finally skipped ahead and quit the round entirely.

The only bright spot if the entire day was the lovely people in the food service at the turn.

We have never been treated like trash like we were during this expensive ordeal. We will not be back and urge anyone else that is pondering coming here to...

Comment added below: Do not play here for the foreseeable future. The course is in terrible shape. Every fairway on the course is dead from some form of rot. 3 of the first nine greens are covered and have temporaries in the fairway. the greens that are playing have many dead spots and are neither mowed or rolled. I paid for 18 holes. I was called back to Bend and when I asked for a raincheck for the back nine the kid at the counter told me know and laughed like I had asked for a free round. Usually this is one of the best courses in Central Oregon. I can tell you now it will take a lot to ever get me back there. To the owner: I did not change my name. I will gladly stand behind every word I wrote here. Google added the west in the review and I would correct that if I could. I have greatly enjoyed playing your course in the past. However, with the extremely bad condition your course was in at the time, players should have been informed of the situation, same as you have when the greens have been aerated. I would then NOT have had to be very disappointed when I got on the course and discovered the conditions AFTER I had payed to play. That is the reason for...

First I thought: Please, not another narrow parkland course with trees left and right and very long par 4s to make it difficult. I was wrong. Every hole is different and unique. The bunkers are very good placed to make landing zones tight but the fairways are wide enough to hit a driver. I just play with three wood and the course was except hole 17 never too long for me (60) which has two reasons. First the high elevation of 1350m/4450ft and the fairways are pristine, like when you watch an PGA tour event on TV. The ball flys and rolls forever. But you need to pay attention when approaching the greens. I hit it a couple times too far and I thought that I am probably in higher elevation without knowing. A great course. Unfortunately I had two foursomes of Asian golfers in front of me and they had no problem to play slow AND bad and let me wait for every shot forever. I think they walked off the green extremly slow on purpose. And when I walked up on a tee box they ignored me. Terrible people without manners and golfing skills. p.s. they dont offer a 9 hole rate but in the afternoon its just 50USD/walking which...
