Burry Chocolates — Local services in Surf City

Burry Chocolates is the ABSOLUTE best! 🤗 My husband spotted the Burry Chocolates sign last weekend, out of the corner of his eye, while we were driving back to Jacksonville from Wilmington. He stopped mid-sentence and said, "I'm sorry, but I need you to Google Boule Chocolates, or something like that, in Hampstead NC please, and it had a dark colored sign." On line I went, and sure enough, Burry Chocolates popped right up!

We drove up to Burry Chocolates first thing this morning, and MAN was it worth the 30 minute drive.🤗 Emily welcomed us with the biggest smile on her face, which was so comforting; she gave us a thorough explanation of the WIDE variety of chocolates in the store, and offered to let us sample whatever interested us, and OMG it was "love at first taste!" 😄

As you can see by the photos, we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what we sampled, and bought a lot to bring home, which actually, we dove into before we even got out of the Burry Chocolates parking lot! 🤣 OMG we enjoyed every piece, from the dark chocolate orange creams to the dark chocolate covered almonds, and the almond bark crunch, and the dark chocolate covered orange peel, and the dark chocolate covered pecans, and the dark chocolate mints and coconut macaroons, and man-oh-man.....I guess you get my point, WE ENJOYED IT ALL!!! 😋😋😋

I am NOT a regular reviewer of things, BUT... every blue moon, when I run across something that is absolutely out of this world AMAZING in the areas of quality, taste, lovingly comforting atmosphere, and quantity for the money, I MUST speak up and say something, and THIS is one of those moments. As I began my review by saying Burry Chocolates is the ABSOLUTE best, I will end my review by repeating Burry Chocolates is the ABSOLUTE best, AND we HIGHLY recommend them to any and everybody who is looking for a little bit of Heaven on earth.

I’m pretty sure Willy Wonka would be jealous of this chocolate shop. The moment you walk in, it smells like heaven—and no, that’s not a figure of speech. The shop smells so good they actually sell candles that smell like the shop (not the other way around). It’s magic in every sense.

This is what candy should taste like. Every bite is pure joy, and there’s truly something for everyone—chocolate-covered berries, sugar-free options, fun candies for kids, and even ice cream made with their own chocolates mixed in. Grocery store candy bars will never satisfy you again. You’ve been warned.

It’s a family-run shop, and the owners are wonderful people. There’s a fun front patio with games and seating, and they offer samples, which is dangerous in the best way—you’ll end up needing more than you thought because they disappear faster than lightning.

We take all our out-of-town friends here. We stop by on date nights or during those “it’s-that-time-of-the-month-and-chocolate-will-fix-it” moments. They’ve also got merch—shirts, hats, gift baskets, stickers, candles—you name it.

My only complaint? I wish they were open past 7 PM, because let’s be real… the after-bedtime chocolate cravings are real. Also, if you’re hoping for chocolate-covered fruit, go early—those sell out fast.

I have been coming to North Topsail Beach for about 15 years, and last week was the first time I've ever been here! If you are a chocolate lover, you will LOVE this place. I've had chocolate covered strawberries before, but have NEVER experienced the deliciousness of chocolate covered blueberries, pineapple, blackberries, and my very favorite, chocolate covered raspberries! They were so good, that we came back a second time during the week to take some home. On my second visit, I bought all of the raspberries (almost 2 pounds) and my family in NC and Ohio agreed that they were spectacular! I also bought salted caramels, chocolate covered Oreos, pecan turtles and other assorted chocolates. I've been to Belgium and Germany and these chocolates rival all of the best I've tasted in Europe. The owners were an absolute delight and I am certain that I will return on my next visit to the beach. I'm ruined for the local chocolatier's chocolate covered strawberries, as Burry's chocolate covered fruits were so...
