I recently had the pleasure of participating in a private group clinic with Dylan, the owner of A Singletrack Mind, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From start to finish, Dylan's passion for mountain biking and his expertise shone through, making for an incredibly valuable and enjoyable session.
Dylan's coaching style is highly effective, combining clear instruction with hands-on demonstrations that really helped our group improve our skills and confidence on the trails. His personalized approach ensured that everyone, regardless of skill level, felt supported and challenged in the right measure.
What sets Dylan apart is his genuine care for his clients' progress and enjoyment. He took the time to understand our goals and tailored the clinic to meet our needs, ensuring that we left feeling more confident and capable riders. His enthusiasm for the sport is contagious, making the clinic not only educational but also a lot of fun.
The location chosen for the clinic was perfect (Fairfax and Tamarancho), providing a variety of terrain to practice on and stunning views to enjoy along the way.
Overall, I cannot recommend Dylan and A Singletrack Mind highly enough. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced rider aiming to refine your skills, Dylan's private group clinics are a must-do. Thank you, Dylan, for an...
Read moreI’m a 30+ year mountain biker and I was looking to see if this old dog could learn a few new tricks or at least improve my technique. A Singletrack Mind was offering a local clinic so I figured I would check it out. I was impressed with coach Dylan from the start. He asked us what we wanted to get out of the clinic and then started working into a progression to meet those goals. After honing our new skills for what felt like the perfect amount of time, we got on the trail and put them to use. Dylan gave constructive feedback, which was extremely helpful. What impressed me most about Dylan’s coaching style is that, having been an instructor myself in a different sport, I noticed how he touched on each of the different learning styles such as visual, cognitive and kinesthetic and even had some great metaphorical terms to use if he noticed it something wasn’t clicking right away. Most importantly, I got what I wanted out of the clinic and have been able to put some of those new tricks to use in my riding. I had a lot of fun and am looking forward to taking another lesson from Dylan and hopefully bringing my wife and some friends next time. I would say, no matter what level of rider you are, you can get something out of spending a few hours with A Singletrack Mind. Money well spent....
Read moreI've been mountain biking for 12 years, and I never felt that I had a real good grip on the techniques that made my rides smooth and flowing. I always lacked the confidence that made my rides anything more than "bombing down the hill holding on for dear life." When I first got started, I did read a lot of material on the internet and learned a lot of techniques.
From the first day of our three-day Clinic, Dylan was able to open my eyes to how many of the "old" techniques I was using were out-dated and causing my lack of confidence on the trail. Every single day of the clinic, Dylan showed us something new that I probably would not have ever learned on my own. You can watch Youtube videos every day (and I've watched quite a few) but you'll never get the level of technical expertise that Dylan imparts in his trainings. Not only will Dylan tell you what you should be doing, but he tells you the why of it, and in such a way that even someone as slow as I am can understand it =D
By the time I was done with this clinic, I was riding sections of trail that I previously would have gotten off the bike and walked. I plan on mountain biking for as long as my body is able to, and this class definitely helped make something that I enjoy doing much...
