The fish in this lake are amazing! Unfortunately drought has severely impacted the water levels. He had the opportunity to ride along with the department of fish and wildlife as they spawned the Eagle Lake Trout. Because of the low water levels these fish can no longer go up Pine Creek and spawn naturally or make it to the fish traps for human spawning. As a result the department of fish and wildlife must go out and use electric shockers to stun the trout and spawn them on the banks in the lake. The eagle lake trout are unique To California. While I did not catch any trout the days here, I thoroughly enjoy time on the water. It was very peaceful and the sun in my face and cool mountain breeze was perfect way to relax.
