I can't say enough good things about this shop and my experience.
I was driving back from Tennessee and my car, that has never had problems before, broke down in Flatwoods. It was late at night, and I didn't know the area at all. The only thing I could go off of to know where to have my car towed was Google. I got lucky enough to find The Shop!
I called the next morning to advise the mechanic that my car was being towed there and discussed the problems. As a woman I always get really intimidated to call around to mechanics because I'm not a car girl and don't really know what I'm talking about when it comes to that. The phone call really couldn't have gone better. He answered the phone with empathy, understanding, a friendly voice, and assured me that we would find the solution and get it fixed quickly.
Somehow, my car ended up getting towed to the wrong place a few miles down the road. The shop owner called me Wednesday night at 8 o'clock to let me know he never received my car from the tow company. What I say, I was panicked that doesn't even touch it. I ended up telling him where the address was that it was towed, and he went the extra mile to go and pick up my car late at night and take it back to his shop so that he could get it worked on. You really just don't find good people like that anymore especially whenever you're not even from that area.
Thursday, my car was looked at and the issue was diagnosed. The shop owner called me immediately and said what was wrong, the plan to get parts, and a timeline of what that would look like. He told me that four fuses were looking pretty worn and could use replacing. Instead of just doing it on his own accord and charging me for it he asked me what I wanted to do and put the ball in my court just so that I could be conscious of the budget. Again, a great example of phenomenal communication and transparency.
I received a phone call Monday morning that my car was ready for pick up and a plan to pay and get the keys.
This shop is nearly 3 hours from where I live in MD but when I say I would drive 3 hours just so he could work on my car again - I MEAN IT.
15/10 experience and could go on all day about how happy I am from...
Read moreI was passing though town on a road trip, pulled into a gas station and noticed my engine splash shield had fallen down during my drive. We went to the autozone and were directed to The Shop in Braxton. We pulled in after the shop was closed but the two mechanics there were happy to help us. They found an error in work in work I had just had completed on my car the week before in Durham NC. They explained what was going on, removed my engine shield, and double checked that my car sounded correct after repairs. We were back on the road in no time! Excellent service, so kind, considerate, and helpful. We would not have made it to our friends wedding without them. Thank you...
Read moreOur vehicle broke down on a drive home from Florida and it was taken to The Shop. We had possibly the unluckiest series of events happen to us over three days trying to get our Highlander fixed and back on the road to Canada, but it was to no avail. The bright spot was Ethan and his crew at The Shop. He could not have been nicer or more helpful to some strangers in need. His uncle Ted was also amazing, taking fantastic care of us with hospitality rarely seen. We are grateful there are folks like this around - friendly, super good at their job, and who go above and beyond. I can't recommend Ethan or The Shop strongly enough. Five stars is the minimum...
