I have not had the pleasure of visiting a European Christmas market (yet), but I imagine Vaillancourt Folk Art is the closest thing to being in those Christmas markets. I bought my first chalkware piece at the Old Sturbridge Village but this time I decided to visit the Sutton store and studio. The store consists of many objects for sale that are made right on site as well as some German made items. This is not a place to find cheaply made Christmas decorations but high quality collectibles. Being a lover of Christmas, I bought a magnificent piece that now adorns my entertainment center joining the Twelve Days of Christmas glass ornaments that my wife received last year. I hope these items are passed along in my family for many generations. Vaillancourt Folk Art is the place to go to truly appreciate and feel the spirit of Christmas. I loved walking through the museum and seeing all the Santa's that have been created by Judi Vaillancourt since the early 1980's. Meeting the Vaillancourt's was also a highlight of my trip. I spent time talking to Judi about different pieces that I loved. Gary was so informative and kind. Luke was welcoming and very helpful.

I was so excited to be at the Vaillancourt Premiere Weekend for the first time; I was a little overwhelmed and "star-struck" that I forgot to ask a bunch of question......I thought of them after we had left. You can rest assure that we will be back.
