Swartz Country Market — Local services in Swartz

Have been going here for years. Recently we had an incident on 10/8/22, where I bought a snack cake (Lemon Ooey Gooey Cake) and found that it had been expired since September of 2021 (over a year ago). Went back to the store to return/trade it, and talked to one of the cashiers about it. Showed her the expiration date and the green fuzzy mold that was growing all over it. After going back and checking the others in the box, they were all expired. I then began checking other similar snack cakes in the same area, and ended up finding at least 10 boxes of completely different items that were expired more than 6 months ago. Some also had visible fuzzy molds growing on them, of various colors.

You know those delicious little carrot cake slices that Love's keeps in the refrigerated snack section? They have those here too, except they keep them out on the regular store shelves with other snack cakes, and they are moldy and hard as a brick.

I suggested to both cashiers that they should probably pull all of that off the shelves before they end up making someone sick, but they seemed to brush it off like it would get them in trouble somehow.

Long story short, CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE ON EVERY FOOD ITEM THAT...

Don't be fooled by the appearance of this place! It looks like any, old, gas station, but they have, superior, fresh food cooked everytime I go in there! They have smoked sausage, boudin, chicken livers, chicken gizzards, chicken strips, come back sauce, french fries and no telling what else! I have found boiled peanuts in there, too! Sometimes they even have sour apple iceys, which I love!! Go...

New owner is very rude to customers and still to expensive . Doesn't keep bread stocked .Foodstamps machine has been down for about 3 weeks and won't get fixed for another 2 weeks.They still don't have good hot food Wish they would sell like hot plates for lunch for example hamburgers and french fries .
