All travelers BEWARE!!!!!!!!! I feel I was pulled over unjustly. I do believe I was profiled to be an out of state driver and would be easy to fine. I was never asked to explain myself, never asked for my insurance card, never asked for my registration card, Never shown the radar readings.. Simply Asked for DL and then ticketed. As a driver with a clean driving record (up to this point) I would have assumed that discretion would have been possible, given the circumstance that I was in the middle of ongoing traffic and had to speed up due to the semi trucks going over the speed limit and trying to run anyone off the road who isn't going up to their speed. It's very scary when you are driving with your family and a semi truck is tailgating you. I feel that as an out of state driver it's possible they anticipate that it will be hard to contest(mainly because they don't give much of an option) and hard to attend court (of course, I live out of state). I would hire a traffic lawyer but it all turns out to be the same from a cost perspective( what a coincidence right). Taking much needed money from hard working law abiding AMERICANS, shame on them! Gave me a ticket for equipment on my vehicle that is legal my state (which the car is registered in). Was passing through to see my aunt in Florida, was pulled over for window tint and nothing else. Asked for my ID never asked for proof of insurance or registration. Then googles Ohios window tint instead of knowing the actual law, which I called and asked since my aunt, cousin and best friend are Cincinnati Police officers. I bought the car from the dealership as is with the tint I didn't add anything to it and have had the car for 3 years without an issue! I tried to explain that to the officer as well as calling the supervisor. The supervisor was extremely rude and condescending after I tried to explain to him the situation and how I was from Cincinnati and it would be a pain to come back to fight it. He told me the officer was "his right hand man" and was chuckling and taunting me to come back and fight the ticket. Ended up with a 198 dollar ticket and wasn't going to drive 10 hours to fight it cause it would of ended up costing me more in the long run. Pulled over yesterday by Officer Pope on interstate. Not for speeding but because he claims a tinted license plate cover is a violation. If it truly is, I did not know and offered to remove it right away. However instead of using this opportunity to build community relations and reputation to educate a driver on something he just wanted to be a arrogant person with a badge. This is a perfect example why regular citizens have issues with police. This was an infraction that could have been fixed on spot, but instead decided to write ticket anyways and I left with the apparent tinted plate tag still attached. I offered several times to remove it on spot but he did not care to listen or want to educate since I really did not know it was an issue. Good job Officer making the interstate safe, especially when there were obvious people going way over speed limit but you decided that this was way more important. Glad you can rest easy at night knowing you are a petty and arrogant person whose job it is to protect and server but you decided to be the other side of that and tear down the respect that I normally have for law...
