We stopped by today and discovered a true gem of a place!! First of all, inside the store, you can find many local products and whatever is in season! We bought fresh peaches that looked beautiful and ready to eat. We picked up some blackberry jam that they make and a few other small items but were absolutely delighted when Joshua told us that the sunflower fields were open for picking. For $10, we clipped the most beautiful sunflowers to take home and made some great family memories too. Joshua was so incredibly kind to us - he called over the animals on their farm so that we could see them - pigs, goats and a cow. And he even gave us his last blackberry fried pie, just because! We had the nicest conversation and it’s not everywhere that you can visit with the owner like that. They accurately described the taste and texture of cultivars I wasn't familiar with.
Then there is a small display near the register with apple fritters inside. The fritters looked good and the scent was crazy amazing. The fritter I had almost covered a standard paper plate. It provided me with 5 servings. Their apple fritters are perfection. The caramelized sugar on the peaks and edges were decadent.
