Creekside Hideaway-Not So Hidden! First the good points...I would definitely rent through Morning Breeze Cabin Rentals again. I found them to be very professional, prompt with responses to my questions and they even offer an app for the rental that provides you with great information and a mobile check out, which I really found to be a nice extra touch. Creekside Hideaway is an adorable cabin decorated very nicely with a well equipped kitchen. The living room is cozy with a beautiful fireplace that we loved using. The screened porch is enormous and we enjoyed the comfy furniture and big screen tv. The creek in the back of the property really adds to the ambiance. It was very relaxing to be able to sit on the porch and hear the rushing water. The proximity of the cabin to the quaint downtown Blue Ridge area is perfect. You're within 15 minutes of shopping and dining. Now for the bad part...I take full responsibility for not asking more questions and I completely understand that Morning Breeze Cabin Rentals can not control the actions of renters of other properties. This review isn't so much about venting, as it is about hopefully saving another renter from the same assumptions that I made. After reading the listing narrative which included the words “private setting” and “serene seclusion” I was under the impression that this cabin was by itself without any close by neighbors, which is exactly what we were looking for. I was instantly disappointed as we pulled into the driveway only to see that Creekside Hideaway is nestled between 2 larger homes. We thought we might get lucky since one seemed to be unoccupied and the other was rented by a family that was quiet and respectful. Well that all ended on the second night when two young couples with their non-stop screaming toddlers moved in. Goodbye peaceful vacation! These renters spent most of their time outside on their back porch allowing their children to run around and scream while they played loud music which consisted of the same Luke Bryan song on repeat for at least two hours the first night that they were there. At this point trying to relax and listen to the creek waters was long gone. We spent the remainder of our vacation pretty much being held hostage inside turning our tv up to drown out the screaming kids and music coming from next door. Master Bedroom- The listing states “custom bedding” and “comfy mattress with high end sheets.” Both nice amenities to have! Well that's not exactly how I would describe it. The flooring in the master bedroom is different than the other rooms of the house. It's a laminate wood that sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispies every time you walk on it. There is no sneaking to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The bed is comfortable, but it is the loudest bed that I've ever slept in. I'm still not sure if it's the mattress or if there is a mattress pad or if it's the sheets, but there is nothing high end about it. Every time you move or roll over it makes loud sounds. This was funny at first, but I have to admit that we were both extremely annoyed by it after the lack of sleep it caused. So all in all, unfortunately, I would have to say that Creekside Hideaway is a one and done for us! The enjoyment of this cabin weighs heavily on the neighbors that you get and I'm just not willing to take that chance with...
Read moreA special vacation shouldn't be this difficult. My wife and I stayed at Majestic Treehouse, a beautiful new home with incredible views, in Ellijay Georgia late in June (see attached photo for the reservation). We paid for 4 nights. The first night there we noticed the air conditioning and the refrigerators were not working. We contacted Morning Breeze (both maintenance and office) that night as soon as we noticed. The maintenance department (Peter)had a mini refrigerator delivered that night but said he could not do anything about the air conditioning that night. The office didn’t respond to our reported issue until the next morning when they said they would look into it (Kim). An HVAC man came out the next day and worked on it, however, he did not fix it and the temperature inside the house got to 81 degrees that night. We reported the problem again to maintenance that night but were informed he could not do anything else that night. We were forced to spend most of that night outside on the deck. The next evening after we got back to the house after being out all day in the north Georgia heat, we could immediately tell the AC had still not been fixed. We recontacted both maintenance and the office and reported the home was too hot to inhabit and this should be considered an emergency repair situation. Late that night Peter offered to move us to a different cabin, however, it was one and one half hours away and was significantly inferior to where we were staying, an unfair offer and unfair ask of us at that late point in the rental. That night we researched and located 4 different HVAC companies that serviced the area 24/7 and provided that information to both the maintenance department and the office with no response. After spending most of that night too outside on the deck with a slight breeze and still not hearing anything further the next morning, the last full day of the trip, we recontacted the office. Mary said if we left that day (one day early) they would not charge us for the final night (we would not be staying there that night anyway) and would also refund us a partial night’s rent. Given the amount of money we paid for a special luxury vacation, that we communicated the problem the very first night and multiple times every subsequent day, and that Morning Breeze never resolved the problem, we communicated we felt this was too little too late. They (Mary and Susan) declined to do anything else. For these reasons, we are rating Morning Breeze with a one star review. We also note that this rental was recommended to us by friends who recently stayed there and they also reported problems with the air...
Read moreWe recently celebrated our 48th anniversary and thought it would be good to rent a cabin in Georgia. We have rented approximately 10 times in the last 20 years and have greatly enjoyed our time in the mountains. However, this last time was extremely disappointing. We rented from Morning Breeze Cabin Rentals who claim to have beautiful cabins in Georgia. If the Stargazer was beautiful in their opinion, I would hate to see what bad is. I knew the minute we pulled into the cabin that we were not entering a beautiful cabin. The overwhelming musty smell of the cabin was my first hint at that. This cabin is a one bedroom cabin that enters into the bedroom. This was odd. The window that would look out over the mountain is covered by a television set that doesn't play anything. The remote with the television also does not work with the tv. The kitchen is small, cramped and ill stocked. When the management company states to bring things with you, the answer is yes. One small 1/2 full bottle of dish soap barely got us through the week. The over and stove were a real experience for this love to cook woman. The furniture had us feeling like we were sitting on an exercise ball and every time we moved, we fell into the couch. Our thanks go out to the wonderful past renters who hooked into their streaming services. It would have made a longer week. The sliding door to the outside was filthy on one side and foggy on the other. Yep, no mountain view there. The door also did not lock, so it has a funky wood pole lock system on it. The sliding screen? Forget it. Overall, the cleanliness of this place was not up to 'beautiful cabin' standards. The most shocking part was the black spiral staircase that led downstairs. The light switches around the hallway did not turn on any of the lights that would show you where to step down, so it was dark. I'm very surprised there was not safety gate at the top of the staircase. One reason we rented this cabin was to be able to sit out and see the night sky. We must have been in Georgia at the wrong time of the year because we didn't get that view. We see more here on the coast of Florida than in the mountains of Georgia. I believe this cabin has had some water damage as the flooring has been replaced and the walls/ceiling in the bathroom have had some replacement. That would explain the musty smell. This experience will not keep us from renting in the Georgia mountains again, however, I will not rent a cabin from Morning Breeze Cabins again. I suggest that management go to their cabins and check them out before...
