Great pool! Love going there…

If it’s summer time and you work a normal 9-5, you’re out of luck to swim in the morning. EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING 6:30 am to 9 am, ALL SUMMER, they basically close the pool to the public for club teams to use. They leave 2 lanes open, with one being the lane with the ladders in it, which is useless for lap swimming.
I had what seemed like a friendly and productive conversation with the supervisor last year, who patiently listened to my concerns, and NOTHING has changed. There are no other public pools open before work within 8 miles.
What seems like an awesome deal (80ish dollars for a year’s access for lap swimming) is less awesome when it’s useless for 2-3 months.

Read moreAfter visiting the majority of pools in the Tampa area, including other city pools and the YMCA pools, as well as private club pools, this pool ranks as the number one serious pool in the Tampa area. It is the only pool in the Tampa area that is available for long distance on a daily basis, with the exception of Sunday. Someone mentioned this is a "no-frills" pool and that is an accurate assessment. Other pools may be preferable for leisure, families, and fun, but if you're serious about your swim/water therapy I'd say Bobby Hicks tops the list...
