Dollar General — Local services in Tarboro

I'm giving this store the 2 stars because I was able to find Christmas lts, but I did it on my own. The cashier was no help at all. Another couple came in looking for lights & made the mistake of asking the cashier & she blatantly said they were in the Christmas aisle...no other help. At this time, my husband & I had not found the lts, but the other couple lft. Missed sale. Also, why is this store always so cluttered & messy. The main thing that made me do this rev was that I pked up an $8 wooden feather that I wanted to buy. There was not a bar code on it but it showed the cost as $8. The cashier very rudely said 'this don't have a barcode' & put the item to the side. She said it under her breath & did not make it a point to say to me as the customer, I can't scan this cause it doesnt have a barcode. No, she just threw it to the side & gave us the total. I questioned why she didn't ring it up & she said 'cause it don't have a barcode' as if it was my fault & I don't evn wk there. I asked "So that means yall are never gonna sell this item." She then proceeded to huff up like it was my fault. Idk what the prob was, but at that moment another kind customer came over & gave us a coupon she had just recd for $5 off that we could use on our purchase. I don't get what is so hard about doing your job these days & I have been to many other $ Generals where they ring items up w/o a barcode. The cashiers need more training esp on customer service & I def will NOT be going bk to the $ General on St. Andrew's St Tarboro, NC again....

There is this one Cashier that works there that is so rude. She has been rude to me since she started working there when Mrs Peaches was there. Anyone who knows me know that I don’t bother a soul and I’m as nice as can be. I always speak and everything. She loves to play victim when another customer catches her being rude. This store is normally dimly lit, has a musty smell, many shelves are in disarray, only one visible employee, and stock carts standing in an aisle, or two, everytime I go in, which isn't very often anymore since the last visit had the aforementioned employee slowly ringing up their friend while they talked and wouldn't acknowledge that I needed assistance, so I left and went out of my way to Walmart for the one item I...
