I really lucked out! I've never needed a professional service in the electronics field for anything audio before, until recently pulling down my old classic tape deck model Teac 6010GSL, from its 30 yr. dunged like confines, stored way deep, forgotten🤦‍♂️ in the attic, with the elements of extremes penetrating it, from winters way below freezing, to our summer's inferno like heat, with temps baking way above 100's, on the decks inner components and odors penetrating into its teak wood cabinet, leaving the tape deck reeking of old, old attic stench!! Horrible, and super grimy, w/ thick dust deep inside everything!! So like I've done for other projects, I tried to figure out myself, hoping to find a simple solution DIY on You Tube, on how to clean and eliminate the nasty smells from this thing, then learning it required so many different kinds of chemicals/lubricant's with caution/warning it could cause severe damage by carelessly cleaning so many sensitive components and then with my little electronic knowledge, and then also finding out there was no audio after reluctantly turning on the unit, for fear of blowing it up after finding many combustible dry dust bunnies! lol That was enough to convince me to start searching the internet, for HELP from hopefully a fair to pro electronics repair store/business with possibly a 5 star reputation, and also a place near me, eliminating the need to ship knowing the value of this machine, but also its weight of 60#'s, and also with the critical packaging involved! Also not wanting to take the chance on a jack of all trades kind of service, knowing the value of this deck when I purchasing it way long, long ago, during the Vietnam way in 1972, and even then it cost nearly 2k in 72, and in todays equivalent (The 3.91% inflation rate means $2000 in 1972 is equivalent to $13,089.33 today)….crazy with prices going thru the roof nowadays! Fortunately found Henk Electronics at first glance on Google search, and near me, like tossing a dart blindly hoping to hit bulls eye 1st attempt! Yet I definitely lucked out in a big way! Mr. Henk responded in a helpful, friendly big way, answering all my questions and then even took the time to forward info on his own, way more than I expected! He had me convinced of his expertise after talking to him on his first call, then he got right on the service, and even after ordering parts, repairs/cleaning, had it back to me within the week, in like new condition and smelling terrify, functioning spot on, and reasonably priced! Got it back home a Happy Camper 😊listening to all my oldies tapes in crystal clear surround sound, along with the help from my Bose sound system, what a traffic experience!!! 🎶. Got one more positive review, * Star again!! this time for my 35 yr old stereo receiver w/ no audio, that I have connected to the above deck, yet coincidentally happened right after the above deck was repaired and not having any connection to its failure! Again Mr. Henk got right to the fix and even left it playing overnight before having me pick it up making sure of it's solid repair, and working properly! Everything working great again!...

I write this review praising our dear friend Fin Henk. This is Gary Banovetz, A member of The Reflections (Just Like) Romeo & Juliet. We first started using Fin back in the early 70"s when we were working under the name The Larados. 5 singers with a backup band The Deuce Coupe band. Performing at festivals through out the Detroit metro area. We soon experienced how well he could blend our voices out front with a perfect band mix behind us. His equipment was of the highest quality. We stood on stage with the confidence that when Fin was on the board we had nothing to worry about. It always sounded great. We formed a great relationship both professional and personal. No matter how difficult the acoustics or staging may have been Fin made it work well for us. He was always on time and extremely reliable. As the years passed and we started performing as The Reflections at larger venues and theaters his sound quality remained top notch. Not a customer yet , but will be when it's time. Called for some advice on some early 80's Yahama home audio gear. Was ready to bring it over and lay down some cash. After my questions , Fin gave me honest advice , and saved me some time and money. Gave direction on how to inspect speaker surrounds , besides the obvious visual stuff , which the speakers don't have. He could have easily let me bring the stuff over and spend unnecessarily, but advised against it , and told me if it sounds good , and functions properly, don't mess with it as it may change the sound you like. Yes, long winded , but you don't often find businesses doling out honest advice to gain a customer for the future. As an aside , my employer has used him for years for professional and home electronics , and has nothing but high praise for his services , and goes nowhere else over a span of decades.
