Food Lion — Local services in Tellico Village

Not at all impressed. I’ve been trying all the different grocery stores near Loudon, and this one has the least advantages. At other stores, you will get an occasional hello, or can I help you find something? The workers in the aisles seem to intentionally ignore customers at Food Lion. The checkout girls were not friendly at all, and you have to unload your own basket (unlike other big stores now). Everything is a little bit more expensive here, and that does sort of explain that it is a very nice, clean, and pretty store. So, I’ll give it a few stars for that. The biggest disappointment was in the meat section. All of the ground beef that was out had a use by date of the following day, and it wasn’t even a manager special. I will probably go back at some point because they did have a small section of kosher foods. That is probably the only reason I will go back to get this one specific item that nobody ever has. Probably, they have to keep it in their store for all the retirees from New York and New Jersey in the area. Had they been nicer and friendlier or helpful at all, I probably would try to work this into a regular rotation of stores that I visit. There were not enough good things about the store to do...

A great grocery store option for residents of Tellico Village. While not the modern day mega mart, this store has everything you might need. The store is clean and well staffed and the staff is willing to help at any time.

While the remodel looks good and gave the store an updated look, between supply chain issues and the explosion of houses built / people moving in, the store sometimes is lacking on the shelves. I wish they had built new and expanded into a more competitive mega mart. At least with the larger size they may be able to keep up with the now increased demand.

Don't get me wrong. This is still an awesome store with an awesome staff. You won't regret going there and getting to know this location and it's staff.

....and what I hear being there today, they are always looking for new people. This isn't really surprising anymore as everyone is hurting for people. If you're looking, they'll be interested in meeting you.

I normally love food lion but my experience with my son's birthday cake really altered my opinion of them. I ordered a tractor themed cake for my son's 2nd birthday party and when I went to pick it up.. it was ALL WRONG. I specifically asked for whipped icing, it was not whipped. The picture of the tractor was not proportional whatsoever. The writing on the cake was halfway off the cake and written on the border. When I went to pick the cake up, the lady said they tried to contact me but the employee who took my order had such terrible penmanship that you couldn't read the order slip and they definitely called the wrong number. I was so upset. They did not even offer a discount for the major inconvenience until I asked for it. I will most likely NEVER order from their...
