Generally, I like DG, the employees are great! BUT lake drive's location has had internet issues that caused one their register systems to not work properly. Which causes customers grief- "Cash Only", now the new check yourself computer that they just installed a few weeks ago WON'T WORK properly(which took the place of an actual person at a register) gee whiz the lines are long enough at times, 7-10 people waiting in line for 1 cashier and "Cash Only" You don't hear that when you enter the store as being greated, but when you've squeezed down those cluttered lanes around loads of cardboard boxes as stockers crowd the floor even more!!! Uugghhh!When you finally get to the checkout, "Cash Only" and sometimes they'll ask for exact change, you have to leave your items, go get cash and come back or just say forget it. This is the ONLY store on this side of town other than gas/convenience type, , we didn't get a mini Walmart close to our area, no Fresh Fruit & Veggies, meats, just processed& preservatives, as much money as DG makes from our neighborhood, We deserve more and better. You Regional and Corporate Managers SHOW IMPROVEMENT because all eyes are on you. Fast Forward; end of 2023 into 2024, ๐๐๐ finally, FRESH fruit/veggies! That being said, the aisles are much too narrow and they're always blocked off by boxes making it very difficult to get around the store. I understand employees have to stock shelves, and it's not their fault, but surely there's an easier way than leaving these huge racks full of boxes sitting all around the store.
