I called the company to inquire about their furniture and the first representative was really kind and helpful, however unable to answer some of my questions. She transferred me to another representative who told me they don't answer questions for the public and advised me to speak to their reps who sell the furniture and basically hung up on me. I had already spoke to their reps who were unable to answer my questions that's why I called the manufacturer. I wanted to inquire about the TSCA Title VI Compliance sticker on their furniture and the CA Prop 65 warning as I believed those are only needed for MDF and engineered wood and it was my understanding that John Thomas products are solid wood (parawood). I wanted to know if the furniture contains formaldehyde or not and which parts of the furniture contain the compliance sticker (example drawers, backboard or slats in bed etc). BUYERS BEWARE: John Thomas Furniture / John Thomas Select Furniture: Extremely disappointed. We ordered a dining table and buffet in September 2019. After waiting the standard 12 weeks to build the furniture, they were delivered in December 2019. The table looks great, the buffet on the other hand was constructed in the wrong colors. The replacement was ordered and after an additional 12 weeks it was delivered in March 2020. There are chips in the wood panel and the top of the doors look like they have mold on them. I am very surprised that this passed John Thomas Furniture Quality Control Department. To add insult to injury, the table and the buffet stain do not match because they were made at separate times. Do not purchase from John Thomas or White Wood Industries! The furniture is made in Vietnam and is low very quality. The furniture is assembled and finished in their plant in N. Carolina. I purchased a table, 6 chairs, a buffet and hutch. None of the paint matches and the glass on the doors and the shelves is very thin and the edges are sharp and jagged, not sanded or beveled as they should be. I waited three months for this furniture and now must wait three more months to have the paint fixed. And that is the way they make the glass.
