Stony Point Golf Course — Local services in Thompson Township

I have a USGA 4 handicap and have played a ton of courses. This is one of the tightest courses I've ever seen! Accurcay off the tee is paramount. I suggest moving up a tee box closer than your are used to. Take 3W instead of driver, etc... The fairways are very nice (and tightly mown) and greens are very big...but not much room to miss. And theres not much the course can do to make it more playable as there is swamp/water surrounding almost every hole. You get what's there. One thing they MUST do is move the holes more often. It's a labor-only cost and needed as all the holes were very "hairy" with grass overgrowing the cup. Tough to putt. If you're feeling a bit cocky about your golf games, this course may humble ya! A very enjoyable course and friendly staff.. something more should be done for members though when they decide to close early… I went there shortly after 4 on a Monday and they were closed with no access to a golf cart. As a member, and with the cost of membership there should be a way for members to get carts when they close early. Nice 9 hole course, it's not a long course, but it was a difficult course, if you can hit the ball straight to avoid the trees the water will surely piss you off. 😂.
