G 7 Caterers — Local services in Thompson

My husband and I hired this company for our wedding this past Saturday, and I cannot say enough about how wonderful they were. My primary contact was Amy, but Jason is an amazing chef and all the food that was prepared was DELICIOUS. I began my catering search last fall, and while I spoke with MANY catering companies very few were willing or able to match not only my budget but also my vision. We had our wedding planned for my parents backyard, and most companies I spoke with would only do buffet service for an outdoor wedding (or pressured me that I should do buffet service to cut costs.) I was set on having plated service, as I wanted my guests to be able to sit and enjoy eachothers company while waiting for their meals. I also wanted open bar, and I didn't want to limit my guests to just beer and wine or make them pay for their drinks. A lot of other vendors had a very steep price change or they had different tiers of open bar depending on liquor branding. None of these issues were the case in my initial inquiry with G7 Catering. Amy never once pressured me to change my ideas, she simply asked for what food items on their menu looked like what we would want, what type of bar we wanted, and offered to schedule a tasting after we agreed the prices were right. We had our tasting Thanksgiving weekend, and it was incredible. The food was amazing. We talked about the stuffed chicken and the bruschetta for weeks. Portions were huge, and we took home several leftovers and enjoyed them over the next few days. Amy and Jason were so kind, made appropriate suggestions in addition to what I had requested to try, and we were able to set the official menu and prepare our contract. A month ahead of the wedding Amy came and did a site visit, where we discussed timeline of the day, how many people they would have, and what they would be bringing. The night before the wedding she came out again to see how the tent was set up, what tables and chairs there were, and confirmed timing of their arrival. These might seem like basic tasks but I felt it is a testament to their professionalism and preparation to ensure the day of would go smoothly. The day of the wedding was perfect and that's an understatement. Amy and Jason and their crew arrived on schedule, began setting up the tables and chairs in the tent and for the ceremony, and everything was ready when we needed it. After the ceremony, passed hors d'oeuvres were brought out to guests promptly and bar service began. The wedding party had a team of people circulating with us when we were taking pictures so that we got to enjoy the food between shots. They brought us drinks from the bar and ensured we were well taken care of. My husband and I had a dedicated server who made sure we were getting everything we wanted. I've read so many stories about how the bride and groom don't get to eat at their own wedding and this was NOT the case. Everything was just as delicious as I remembered it and I was so glad with the service received. When it was time for sit down dinner everyone received their meals with again huge portions. We could have fed an army. One of my guests decided last minute she wanted a different meal and they accommodated that request without incident. They packed up leftovers for us and I will be enjoying them until I leave for the honeymoon! Every single guest I spoke with was so impressed with not only the food but the service we received. Every server was polite, professional, attentive, and most of all friendly! They all seemed genuinely invested in making sure we had a great meal, great drinks, and a fabulous time. If there were more than 5 stars to give I would. I wish they had a restaurant because I would visit often, everything this caterer did was simply amazing. I truly don't have enough kind words. When looking for a caterer for our wedding, my (now) husband and I requested several estimates and booked a handful of tastings. From the first correspondence, I could tell the G Seven was special. They were slated as the second tasting in our schedule. After meeting with Amy and Jason and trying filling up on delicious food, we were so impressed that we canceled all our other tastings and booked with them immediately. During the planning phase, Amy was incredibly flexible and helpful at every turn. We wanted to provide dishes, flatware and linen, and Amy easily accommodated this while ensuring I ordered the correct amounts. When we had our onsite meeting with my wedding coordinator, we both reflected how lucky I was to have such a conscientious and dedicated caterer. On the day of the wedding, the G Seven exceeded every expectation. Their large staff made light work of the setup, and everything was completed well before schedule. After the ceremony when we taking photos during cocktail hour, members of the G Seven staff brought passed appetizers over to us, and we were SO grateful. Amy, Jason and the G7 staff were amazing! G7 catered our wedding at roseland park and our rehearsal dinner. Amy and Jason were so great to work with. they made everything so easy and were always available for questions. Jason prepared and amazing menu for us and all of our guests absolutely loved the food!!! you have to get the brisket with bluberry bbq sauce!!!! Amy was very organized and help with every detail and any rentals we needed. everything was prompt and well executed. Knowing that Amy and Jason were there for us made the day much less stressful. Also when working with them you feel like family and not just a business transaction. they catered our rehearsal dinner as well. we choose the taco bar and it was a huge hit!
