We stopped here on Thanksgiving Day after we were done eating at Golden Corral. Very nice young ladies working there and very interesting place, to say the least. Not the best souvenir shop I've ever gone to in my life. But still, very interesting stuff to look at. I bought a bottle of their green pepper hot sauce, a bracelet and a beach-themed home décor item to hang on my wall. The restrooms there are very clean and pretty. I think it's worth a stop if you need gas or need to use the restroom during your road travels. My mom was making jokes about the "Plantation" part in their name. We're Black and were treated very nicely and welcomed. I walked all over the store, looking at literally everything in there and no one cared. I gave it 4-stars instead of 5 b/c I wish they had a bit more items in there (maybe more clothing items and t-shirts) and the prices on some of their items are kinda high. I saw a few items in there that you can get at the Dollar Tree that were priced for about $7.00. But, some stuff, like some of the decorations, are priced pretty decent. I would go back for a visit whenever I'm in the area again. Just to see if there's anything different or to treat myself to some local jams, jellies...
Read moreI was recently traveling through this area very early in the morning and I was by myself. I suddenly found myself in need of gas and a restroom. I pulled up to the store but couldn't really tell if it was open or not. I filled my gas tank and then it hit me that I really needed a rest room. I walked from the gas pump to the front of the store because I saw several ladies walk out into the store from what looked like an office. I knocked on the glass door and asked if I could please use their restroom. The first girl looked at me and told me no that they didn't open until 7:30. I was probably close to tears by that time and knocked again, practically begging them to open the door when an older lady came over to the door and asked if I was by myself. I told her I was, that I had just filled my gas tank and could I please use their restroom. She unlocked the door and let me use the restroom. I thanked them all on my way out. To the ladies working that morning I would like to thank you for letting me in your establishment 20 minutes before opening and I truly hope you never have to experience the same thing and if you do I hope you find a...
Read more20231210 This is one of the best Tourist Traps that I have ever been to. I found Magnolian Plantation on Google Maps and was surprised to see 20 billboards on this shop while driving here from Florida. Turned out, the owner also owns the billboard company. I was worried that they would add the billboard rentals to the pecan prices. I came here for Pecan treats, and they have what I was looking for based on photos posted by other Google Maps reviews. I didn't expect to find so many things... fried peanuts, praline pecans, pecan logs, hot sauce, peach jam, and even pork rinds. I walked out with about $190 of goodies. The young ladies working there are on the reserved side, but they were helpful when asked a question. It would have been nice if they were friendlier. They have public restrooms, and every stall in the ladies' room are handicap size!! So nice. The shoppers who used the restroom don't keep it clean, disappointing. I don't recommend getting gas at the Shell here, even though it's convenient. Gas is Sooooooo...
