I was super lucky when first moving to Titusville to get a place right near the YMCA here on Park and Harrison. Been going here for 2 years now with the family and It is a great facility which does not have much of a match in this area, so it is a very popular place and you end up seeing allot of folks that you know. Membership is about 85$ a month for a family but honestly its super worth it when you think of pool access, gym access, childcare access, etc. There is a startup fee as well but allot of the times they run specials for new members with a discounted or no startup fee.
Overall the facility had been redone within the past 5 or so years so it is very nice. Sometimes there is a few cobwebs that linger (above the elliptical on the west window corner, I named the daddy longleg there Andrew as we have been acquainted over the past few months), but other than Andrew everything including the equipment is nice and clean and they keep the chemwipes stocked for wiping things down.
The gym itself is of modest size. They have everything from freeweights to weight machines, treadmills to rowing machines. There is almost always a YMCA worker around if you need help with something. There is only 2 horizontal benches which is probably the one thing that holds me up, but it usually is only about a 5 minute wait before you can get on anything if you even run into that problem. Its a family facility so you can't expect everything an LA Fitness had because they have other activities a exclusively-gym facility does not. Sometimes kids will run through the gym area but its just something you have to watch out for being its a family facility.
Pool is super awesome, about a half a dozen or so lap lanes, a decently sized free swim area with water park to boot, and a nice staff of lifeguards who are great with the kids! Only thing here is the pool is only open for free swim for a limited time during the summer, which to be fair it does get cold, but we are in Florida so its never that bad, but oh well!
Speaking of great with the kids, my favorite part of the Y (and my kid's favorite) is the Kid's Center which is staffed by some super wonderful people who are awesome with my daughters. My kids love going there and playing with their friends they have made, since we go at a very regular schedule, and they love the crafts the workers there put on for them. Even if they are the only kids there the staff give them great one on one attention that I find super awesome as a parent because I don't ever have to worry about what they are doing there. Greatest part of the Y! Kids are always asking to go.
As part of your membership you also get a discount on classes for you and your kids. Lots of the typical classes: Spinning, Yoga, Karate, Swim Classes, Kids Soccer, etc. They are pretty good, sometimes you may not get the best iteration of a certain course but I've found the Y is very accommodating if you had any issues with the class so they are great things to try out. My oldest learned to swim here as well as played a season of soccer. I know she had a great time and learned allot.
Overall the staff is super friendly (always a warm welcome when you walk in), price is right, child care is the best, and the environment is perfect for a family. Keep a sharp eye for the no-startup fee...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNo customer service. The facility is dirty and falling apart. The staff seems to be some sort of community service for people trying to get on their feet. I have tried for three summers to avail myself of the swimming lessons and the sign up process is made to be so inconvenient that you never follow through. It took four phone calls to two different locations speaking to confused staff and being told that they donāt provide lessons to children under 3 years old. Itās on their own website that they do! After expressing my frustration to the incredibly bored young woman on the phone she apologized in a sleepy monotone voice and told me that I had to go down to the facility to sign up or show up on the class start date and hope for the best. Saturday morning at 8:00 the person that I have been trying to find for a week decides itās convenient now for her to call me and miraculously sign me up over the phone. I have a pool and two toddler granddaughters that live with me. The lessons are for rescue and safety and could potentially save their lives. I have had to find other sources for help and support in teaching swimming safety. Something I have been paying this facility every month for...

My 3 yr old was bullied as I WATCHED from the glass how it was happening in front of 3 staff members and NOBODY CARED to do anything about it! She was bullied by what looked to be 2 girls who were about 8-10 years old. They took her doll from her hand and anything she grabbed! They broke her watch and god knows what else before that because as soon as i saw part of it i went in to ask WHY NOBODY WAS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT??!!? I spoke with a short haired, medium built black lady who told me āoh yea we know who she isā apparently they knew one of the girls for bullying and still allowed her to be around smaller kids and bully! She wasnt even watching her knowing shes a risk to other kids! CAREFUL with ur children! This place is not a typical ymca! People are phony and pretend to care but all they...
