Rocket Raceway Park is a fine place to catch some racing—if you can make it through the sideshow of commentators who think they’re the main event. These guys have the energy of a caffeine overdose and the timing of a broken clock. Every lap comes with unsolicited banter, dad jokes that missed their prime in the late ’90s, and a steady stream of “did-he-really-just-say-that?” moments.
And then there’s the promoter—bless him—who sounds like he’s storing half a can of Copenhagen in his cheek and the other half in his windpipe. Announcements come out like gravel in a blender, and by the time you figure out what he said, the race is over and someone’s already in the winner’s circle.
But when those cars hit the track, all the noise fades. The real show is the dirt flying, engines roaring, and tight battles in the corners. That’s why I go. That’s why most of us go. The rest of it?...
Read moreI raced Rocket Raceway Park for the first time this past weekend. I cannot say enough about how well run this track is (good job KR). The pits are clearly marked and well organized. Race operations ran smoothly. The track was fast, fun, and well prepped. The safety crew operated quickly when clearing wrecks. And I can’t vouch for the public grandstands, but the pit stands were really nice and the food looked good. Read moreOne of the cleanest well managed tracks I have visited. Concessions are on the small side for such a large grandstand area. The restrooms are clean and well maintained but at large events expect to wait in line. Nice grandstands but the definitely need defined walk ways up and down .. as well as more manageable stairway . Promoter does a great job of bringing in a good variety of exciting racing! Track is always super racey !Over all a Great place...
