I have been shopping at the Middle East Market for the last five years. They used to bring some good middle eastern groceries (not any more). I heard so many complaints about their meat and their butcher. I know the guy; he is really not nice, he has no since of respect for the customers and he is like giving you the meat for free “literally”. Yesterday, the weather was nice and I decided to take my family to the park. So I went to Middle East Market to buy some chicken tawook. The guy there took my order then took another order from another person behind me “ a lady”. Then he started working on her order and ignored me completely.
I was so upset and outraged. I told him that what you just did is not nice. He started shouting and threatening (with a knife in his hand). I knew right a way it wont end pretty with this guy. Then I went to the management (as we do with any other respected store). I tried to explain to them what just happened from their butcher, their response was unacceptable and unsatisfying to me.
Then another guy, also from the management, came and talked to me, when I told him again about what just happened he started making excuses and not willing to acknowledge what I am saying. He started defending his guy and not willing to apologize for his action. I really got so upset and left the store deciding not to come back ever again. Thanks God there are many other Middle Eastern markets in Toledo and Dearborn is juts 40 minute away. My advice is that if you really want to go there just be careful and expect...
Read moreI do most of my shopping here. My son and I enjoy the quick eats from their already made foods. The ladies are so sweet and always have a smile. They make you feel welcome and when my son isn't with me they ask where he is and how he is doing.... Now not trying to sound like a debbie downer but.................... The meat area I always try to avoid, I usually have my husband get the meats, the men are in less of words.... Mean! My husband laughs and said thats just how they are raised, but come on! You need to display customer service if you work in a retail job! It makes such a bad image for the rest, smiling a little and greeting everyone, not just a certain type of people is suggested highly! The cashiers are dull. The one woman will not say hello, goodbye, throws your change into your hands and just random toss stuff into bags, at times causing damages to products you buy.. The stockers never seem to smile either. Which causes you to shop quickly forgetting things, just to get out of the uncomfortable situation. Basically, got to step up with the customer service! Take notes from the ladies in the already made foods area. If they were in charge of the store I guarantee business would double!
All in all its my store to shop, until we find another location, because they have what my...
Read moreI have shopped with this family for years, but recently my shopping experiences have been lacking. My last visit is the deal breaker. I went to the meat counter and was treated as though my mid-sized order was simply too problematic to accommodate. I requested ribeye steaks, a whole chicken, chicken wings, ground beef and lamb chops, along with purchasing several fresh fruits, veggies, deli meats and halal marshmallows for smores. By the time the gentleman was getting my lamb chops he seemed over my request and copped an entire attitude when I asked him to cut me 1 lb. He pulled their entire rack and put it on the scale and said "it's just over 2 lbs." It was 2.59 lbs. I said fine I'd take it, but then he seemed too bothered to slice them. So I just got my workout slicing my own chops. I will...
