My son and I had an amazing discovery flight and first lesson with CFI Mikaela, departing from David Wayne Hooks Airport in Tomball and flying out toward Lake Conroe. She had me handling the yoke for 180° and 360° turns before we made our way back to DWH. We flew in Cessna 172 N36DS, which definitely has a few miles under its wings, but still flew great. The only small downside was that the headset jacks in the back seat didn’t work, so my son couldn’t listen in on the radio or cockpit talk. Otherwise, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Mikaela walked us through every step — preflight, run-up, takeoff, cruise, approach, and landing — always calm, patient, and professional. I’ve spent hundreds of hours flying in MSFS and X-Plane, and watched more CFI YouTube videos than I can count. I half-expected some CFI tension in the cockpit, but Mikaela was the opposite — relaxed, confident, and easy to learn from. Highly recommend her for both discovery flights and training. We’re already planning our next one.

Visited Houston for a year and wanted to continue flying. Pretty good variety of planes when I started, I mostly flew the 172 with the g1000 for my instrument rating, then moved onto the archer. Got my high power endorsement in the C182 as well. KDWH is also a decent airspace to learn. Located just under a class b airspace, comms can get busy. Also have a few airports in close vicinity to quickly learn a variety of instrument approaches (including DME arcs). For those from outside of Houston, the weather can get a bit more sporty with the winds, which is great for those who want to challenge themselves. Overall a good place to learn. Like any flight school, much of it is dependent on your instructor. Dante is great and has been an blast to work with. Not sure how much longer he’ll be there as he’s getting close to moving onto the next step in his aviation career.

The team out at Texas Flight gets a triple A rating - They have a wealth of experience and about ten flight school awards for instruction so they know a lot because they've seen a lot. The owner, Howard Davenport, took the time to help me with my FAA Apllication and study materials and he knew what he was doing with the FAA and the forms, phone numbers, and general knowledge of the FAA. Howard even worked at the FAA. This is a great environment to learn and grow in the pursuit of flying. It's truly a low stress and high positivity environment and I have complete confidence that Texas Flight can assist and guide me through the Advanced Ground Instructor certification. Thank you Howard! See at the airport!

I came to know this place after having the idea to do something that my friend and I have both always wanted to fulfill as a childhood dream and my guess is secretly in almost every little boys mind which was to soar the skies like a bird in a small aircraft. Well we came upon the right place! Everyone was friendly, professional, down to earth, safety conscious, and our Instructor Jacob Stanley is one calm, knowledgeable, experienced, skilled, and cool young man. He taught us the basics and a whole lot more and our personal hands-on experience was absolutely amazing and the highlight of our experience and we walked away with much greater appreciation and respect to the ones who did this as a way of life, who make it look easy, a great deal more because it takes real skill's and it aint easy being in control of multiple thing's all at once but Jacob was a fine instructor who was there with us every step of the way. It is definitely a fulfilling challenge you will absolutely love, never forget, and definitely one of the coolest, rarest thing you will write down in your personal record book called Life experience's if you have the ability to put fear aside and just LIVE Life the way it was meant to be which is often outside our comfort zone and boring cubicle offices. Statisticly we have million's of times more danger on our daily commute to work and home in our automobiles then these flights hands down. Back on the ground in our regular life, we are making plans to go up again and afterwards seriously considering getting our private pilot license . Thank you once again TxFlight for your Great team and for the...

cancelled my session like 30 minutes before it was supposed to start. we were going for a birthday thing so it put a huge damper on the day lol very awkward. I was also making quite a drive out for it so I was almost there when they called. the person who called to cancel assured I could call back to reschedule or refund. I took a few days to think about it and when I called to request my refund, they “couldn’t verify” that someone told me that (literally not my problem that THEY can’t confirm who that was…does it really matter though in circumstances like these??) and refused a refund. they said I could keep calling back until I called at a time when the manager was available. called a few times but it was pretty clear that was going nowhere. anyways now I’m out hundreds of dollars. very yikes customer service. idk. I wouldn’t go back obviously and I don’t suggest anyone bother w them until they start to be a little more organized? feels wrong that they cancelled (for whatever reason) so I did not get the service I paid for and they are so dismissive of the refund THEY offered....
