A little piece of cinema heaven in a high tech age. We decided to give this place a try as our local and much loved drive in theatre closed a number of years ago. We were not expecting as much as we got. Set near the beautiful town of Alexandria Bay this theatre is the real deal. We drove up to the gate and received our tickets to be treated to some amazing old architecture. Everything on the site is original. Even the old style projectors are still openly visible. Well organized and well-lit spaces open to the giant (and I mean GIANT) screens in both cinemas 1 and 2. The old concession booths although still there, do not actually open anymore as age has finally caught up with them. Even the rest rooms are set in a ‘movie’ style with major Hollywood icons adorning the doors. But the best was yet to come. The concession building looks quite modern and honestly a bit disappointing from the outside. But almost like a magic trick, as you enter you are overloaded by the sheer transformation of time and space back to the original fittings of a 50’s style drive in. Don’t take my word for it, check the pictures! A vast menu of drinks and snacks are available for purchase and the range and type of candy is just a delight to see. From Milk duds to Golden Nuggets they are all here. If you don’t feel you want to eat in your car for any reason you can sit in the gorgeous surroundings of the 50’s diner in which it is set. The sound from the movie that can be clearly seen through the giant bay windows and is pumped in through speakers so you never have to miss a moment. And now the shocking part. The price. In an age where everyone is gouging it is so refreshing to see prices of such extreme value. Our ticket (which includes two movies plus tax) were $5 dollars each!!! They also provide discounts for Military (serving) and seniors. Kids are a mere $3 and infants are free. A ¼ pound hamburger was $3.89, a large popcorn was $4.99, and the list goes on and on. It is clear that the people who run this establishment love movie memorabilia and everything about the drive in culture. They not only have preserved it, they have positively embraced it at every turn. Let there be no misunderstanding. This is truly a gem that took all my expectations and left them hanging to be replaced by what I can only describe as ‘magical’. If it were possible to give more than five stars I would not hesitate. Even if you are not a big movie fan I would still recommend the experience of this amazing place. As long as this theatre is open no big brand ‘Multiplex’ will ever have my money again. A great night out for the entire family in a beautiful old fashioned drive in at an old fashioned price.

I've always loved drive-in theaters, this one is like any other with one slight difference that isn't bad but smart in my opinion, you have to tune in on the radio of your car depending which screening your attending too instead of having to have your window low with the speaker inside (even though that gives it more of a drive in experience) the food was good too, everything was well cleaned and the staff there is super friendly. I loved it and will definitely come back to see more movies!

What an amazing 1st time experience! This was my daughter & I's 1st drive in movie. My husband & I really miss going to the theaters but decided not to miss out on new movies even if our daughter was with us. We saw a kid's movie first & then Jurassic World afterwards. She ended up leaving us alone for the 2nd movie because by then she passed out! The only negative is the mosquitoes but if you just want to close all the doors to keep them out, then it's perfect!

I can't say enough how much I love this drive-in.

Parking is set up great, wrapping around the screen and not set to far back, making viewing the movie good at any angle and with two screens two movies each, options are no problem. There is also a feature to jump screens for a small up charge! (TIP:Show up early for your favorite spot)

The food is great and well priced. The menu seems to keep expanding every year adding more than just your regular drive in basics.. Yum yum lol

The food area is beautiful!! Well decorated to give you that old drive in feel, but also efficient clean, well stocked and a large group of friendly staff ready to take your order quickly and with ease!! (TIP: Get your order in asap as this popping place gets busy and packed fast)

Pluses (if you needed them) The ticket price is great for adults and children, including mitary discount. The facility is well maintained and clean, per request: they can jump your car in the event your battery dies (guilty here lol), there's a screened viewing room if you prefer not to be in your car or you group is to large for your cars comfort and the entire drive-in is all set to give you that old drive-in feeling!!

This was the first drive-in I have ever been to, then visited others in different states as I loved my experience,, but quickly learned everyone's standards our not the same as the Alex bay drive-ins 😔😕🙁! Me and my family have been coming here for almost two decades and will continue our family tradition! The Munoz family looks forward to every summer Thanks to the Alex Bay Drive-in!! Thank you for providing us with great family time, memories and...

Okay, so this is my first review ever, I'm 32 and never had the chance to go to a drive-in theater before. My coworker told me to go check it out and I'm really glad I did. First off, the convenience is awesome. My wife and I are new parents and wanted to go see a movie together, but didn't want to be those people with the crying baby in the theater. We brought the baby, our little yorkie (don't know of that's allowed or not) and had the best time. It was easily the best movie viewing experience I've ever had and I was just laying in the back of my Jeep. The prices are awesome, $6 for adults, $5 for military and I think like $3 for kids, our baby was free of course. The biggest surprise for me was the quality of the picture. It was raining out the night we went and you couldn't even tell. Another side bonus was the concession stand. It is centrally located between the two movies (closer to screen 1) and the prices were so much more reasonable than the pricey indoor theaters everywhere. If the wife and I want to see a movie soon, we will be going back, even though the indoor theatre is less than 5 miles from my house. I hope this review doesn't make the place packed, but if you've never been to one, have small kids, just want something different to do for a night, I'd say give it a try. We will...
