Freshtown Marketplace — Local services in Town of Amenia

I'm from Florida so I'm spoiled: within a minute drive I have Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Publix, Fresh Market and Piggly Wiggly. I regularly shop at all but the last. Up here in rural NY there is no such luxury of choice. I went in for one thing, delicata squash. It's fall, but no, they didn't have any. Very few squash at all. Store was crowded with boxes and junky displays, chaotic layout. It was messy with grimey floors. Understaffed. Despite the name "Freshtown" they mostly carry processed food in cans, boxes, or freezers. I bought a few things but then drove back to Millbrook's tiny Marona's Market where indeed they...

Terrible store price gouging because no other supermarkets near.don’t fall for the free ham with some purchase you would have to shop there several times and be charged /overpriced to get any kinda free ham.this store overcharges for everything.bag of oranges 6 dollars ,most fruit is 3 dollars per pound. Having a supermarket in this area is like finding an oasis in the desert. However, a confusing layout and items scattered throughout the store makes finding items trickier than normal. Why would the grated Parmesan cheese not be next to the pasta but five aisles over hidden at the end of an aisle? And the crackers not next to cookies? And why isn’t this place carrying the best fresh vinaigrette Big Mama’s Calamondin Vinaigrette? Simple changes would make this place shine. I’m available for...
