I am far too late writing this, but hiring the Farmer's Wife to cater our wedding and rehearsal dinner was one of the best decisions we made by a long shot. I don't know about you, but I had never before been to a wedding where the food was truly delicious. We have had countless guests comment on how yummy the food was. I still think about the fantastic flank steak with paprika chimichurri we had at our wedding dinner-- so tasty! Besides the incredible food, Emilie is so a joy to work with. She is organized, kind, and very detail oriented. She made sure our wedding weekend ran smoothly. We were living out of the country while we planned our wedding and she did several site visits to make sure that catering would run smoothly and efficiently. She handled all our rentals and met with us so many times over the course of our wedding planning to talk details and ideas. With The Farmer's Wife we were able to plan our whole menu and it felt like a true collaboration. She was also attentive and creative whenever we expressed budget concerns. If you are looking for an event caterer in the Berkshires or Hudson Valley SERIOUSLY hire The Farmer's Wife. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful catering team. The entire catering staff were kind and attentive, many of our guests especially loved the bartenders. Do yourself a favor and book this...
Read moreHad a business meeting at the Millbrook location. To be eclectic the chef is out front of the kitchen chopping Greens for 30-40 minutes. We can no longer take the noise and tell the chef it is very loud and annoying and his answer is i don't think so and continues. I call the owner days later to tell him of the rudeness from the chef and he very curtly tells me if i want quiet to go to a library. Then he says don't come back, he doesn't want me in his place. I agree that is best and 1 hour later I get a text from him telling me to come face to face with him and see how he responds?? Is he serious? This man, Job ( his name) is the most rude, arrogant person I have had the non pleasure of meeting in my 67 years.
My suggestion to him would be to buy his chef a Popeil slicer and dicer so he can be more productive and take it in the back room where he wont bother the customers. After all this is not a 5 star restaurant that needs to see the chef...
Read moreThe Farmer's Wife catered our wedding, and I wish they could cater our wife. The food is outstanding, prepared by a master of their craft and it shows in every offering. On top of catering, they have a cute little spot where you can go for breakfast or lunch. It's a small menu, typically made that day, and they also have prepared foods like soups and quiches. We try to go up there just to grab a quick bite when we can or pick up some stuff for later. I can't stress enough the quality and skill that goes into their food. As for the actual catering experience....well that only gets outdone by the food itself. Our wedding was a buffet style, and Heather was a mastermind of organizing her people so that everything went seamlessly. She was also very helpful in helping us with some of our planning, definitely going above and beyond. We really could not be happier with them. I would give them 10...
