Bedford Farms — Local services in Town of Bedford

I used to really like Max and his team. I went out of my way to buy plants at Bedford Farms, spending thousands of dollars, to support his new business even though I have several great options that are closer to my home. Max's crew did my spring cleanup for the past three years. I paid Max significantly more than what my neighbors pay for comparable work and I was okay with that because I thought the guys doing the labor did a careful and thorough job. This year Max tried to charge me $700 extra out of nowhere for the same cleanup. I asked why such a large increase. He said that part of this was a $300 fee because, in the final two hours of the job, I asked them if they could stop using the leaf blower (which they were just using to blow around dirt on my driveway at that point). I asked them politely and only because I was sick in bed that day and needed to rest. I texted Max to let him know, too. I would have had them come another day since I was sick but the job was already three weeks later than we had agreed. I would avoid this nursery and I would not hire Max for garden maintenance or planting project work. I had a wonderful experience at Bedford Farms this morning. Not only is the space stunning, but the variety of what they offer is exceptional. From gardening tools, plants, flowers, produce, cookbooks, event space, and the list goes on! I am looking forward to when their coffee bar opens!
